Edit: I was contacted by someone in the corporate office a day after my review was posted. I have my refund, finally, so I will raise the review to 3 stars. Hopefully they will get their billing straightened out because the MRI & staff at this location were both great, but it shouldn’t take a negative review to get a refund.
I have been trying to get a refund from this place for 6 weeks now. Hate to leave a 1 star review as my MRI was good, but after dealing with their billing, it is deserved.
I paid the full amount at my appointment time, no problem since insurance coverage is not always predictable. I started contacting billing about a week after I saw my insurance had also paid the full amount. They have admitted that I am due a refund, but cannot give me any further information. They can’t even tell me if the amount will be refunded to my credit card or sent by check.
My last phone call (4 in total over 6 weeks) I was told that someone will call once the refund is processed & I should just stop calling them because they have no idea when that will be. This is absolutely ridiculous. I will make sure my doctor sends me someplace else for any further imaging.
I was referred here as an in-network provider by my insurance. For 3 weeks, they failed to submit a simple preauthorization request while repeatedly pressuring me to pay almost $500 out of pocket. My appointment was canceled twice and delayed, forcing me to repeatedly reschedule my doctor’s visits despite severe pain. When I contacted my insurance, they confirmed no request had ever been sent. Only after I refused to pay did they submit it. This caused unnecessary delays in care.Due to this lack of professionalism, and failure to follow basic insurance procedures, I ultimately had to seek care at another facility to avoid further delays in medically necessary treatment.
This experience reflects a serious disregard for patient care and ethical standards. I would strongly caution others before trusting this facility with their healthcare needs. I would not recommend this facility.

I was double charged via my card and through my insurance for my mri.
I've contacted Northstar many times about the double charge. I was told on 1/29 I would be refunded, by Shanna the billing manager.
I received another call on 2/26 from Northstar when I was told I would receive my refund within 7-10 business days. It is now 4/8/26 and I'm still waiting on my refund. This experience has been such a hassle, I would not recommend Northstar to anyone.
