I wanted to take a moment to recognize the incredible team at National Seating & Mobility in Farmers Branch, Texas.
After everything I’ve been through medically, receiving the right wheelchair wasn’t just about getting new equipment—it was about improving my quality of life, my independence, my comfort, and even my safety.
Today I received my new Permobil F3, and the difference was immediate.
The first thing I noticed was the pressure relief across my upper back and between my shoulder blades. For the first time in a long time, I was sitting upright comfortably without the pain I had become accustomed to. Even before my new Roho cushion arrives, I could immediately tell this chair was in another league.
I can now reach things in my home that I couldn’t before, including opening my refrigerator by using the forward tilt. I can drive my wheelchair-accessible van more safely because my positioning is finally correct. The chest support keeps me secure, my legs stay properly positioned, I remain stable while turning, I stay tighter on the brakes, I can see better, and I can reach things more easily. Those may sound like small improvements, but for someone in my position, they’re truly life-changing.
What I didn’t fully realize was how much of that would come from the people who made sure everything was done right.
I especially want to recognize Lori.
Lori, I owe you both a thank you and an apology.
This process was long, and there were times I became frustrated. I took some of that frustration out on you, and some of it simply didn’t belong to you. Looking back, I realize how much work you put into helping me from the very beginning. One of my personal rules in life is never to place burdens on people that aren’t theirs to carry, and I failed to live up to that with you. I’m genuinely sorry for the way I spoke to you, and I sincerely appreciate everything you did to help me reach this day.
I also want to thank Iris.
When Iris stepped in, she kept everything moving. She was responsive, professional, and made sure the process continued forward. It’s easy to overlook the work that happens behind the scenes, but I didn’t. Thank you for your patience, your communication, and your willingness to help.
Finally, I want to recognize Casey Stephens.
Casey, you were outstanding.
You didn’t just deliver a wheelchair—you made sure it actually fit me. You took the time to adjust every angle, every support, every measurement, and every function until everything was exactly right. You explained every feature, answered every question, and never rushed the process.
Your experience and attention to detail made all the difference. The exact same chair in someone else’s hands may have been good, but because of your knowledge, professionalism, and willingness to get everything just right, it became exceptional.
You helped maximize everything this chair was designed to do.
As someone living with a spinal cord injury and bilateral above-knee amputations, proper positioning isn’t simply about comfort. It affects pressure relief, posture, safety, independence, and the ability to live everyday life. Because of your work, I experienced those improvements immediately.
To everyone at National Seating & Mobility’s Farmers Branch, Texas location, thank you.
You didn’t just provide me with a wheelchair.
You gave me greater independence, greater confidence, and a quality of life that I honestly didn’t realize was possible until I sat in this chair.
I am deeply grateful to each of you for your professionalism, compassion, patience, and hard work. Your dedication has made a lasting difference in my life, and I hope you know how much it is appreciated.
May God bless each of you, and thank you from the bottom of my heart.
