While conventional vein treatments such as sclerotherapy and vein stripping can work, new minimally invasive alternatives offer less pain, shorter recovery and better cosmetic results. Our goal is to provide a quick, effective and comfortable solution to relieve patients of painful varicose veins. Dr. Kakish performs the EVLT® procedure. Benefits include: Treatment in an hour or less Up to 98% success rate Rapid relief of symptoms Return to normal activity immediately – with little or no pain No general anesthesia or hospitalization No scars and you can find more information below. EVLT®, or EndoVenous Laser Treatment The EVLT® (or EndoVenous Laser Treatment) procedure is virtually pain-free and takes about an hour. Dr. Kakish performs the minimally invasive treatment in our office. Most patients return to work right away. Benefits to the EVLT® technique: This technique consists of inserting a thin laser fiber through a tiny entry point, usually near the knee. The laser energy seals off blood flow from the faulty vein. Blood naturally reroutes through healthy veins, and patients often see instant results. We encourage walking immediately after the procedure. You can resume normal daily activity, although rigorous exercise should be avoided for 2-3 weeks. Have more questions? Check out the FAQs.
