What is Bio-identical therapy? Bioidentical therapy refers to hormone therapy which uses hormone treatments which are identical and fit like a key to your endogenous or body’s own hormones. Bioidentical hormones are a safe, effective way to fight the side effects of aging that comes with hormone deficiencies. Assessing hormone levels and function: What does testosterone do? helps you obtain and maintain lean muscle mass increases libido increases energy levels increases endorphins the same way that exercise does, causing a better sense of well-being increases bone mass density, decreasing your risk for osteopenia or osteoporosis Andropause: Refers to a hormonal shift which occurs after turning 30 years old. This process refers to a gradual decline of testosterone levels in men and women. In men, andropause causes several unwanted effects and symptoms such as: Low energy Low libido Difficulty sleeping Difficulty staying focused Inability to grow or maintain muscle Increased cholesterol Erectile dysfunction- difficulty obtaining and maintaining erections Central abdominal weight gain Mood swings Peri-Menopause & Menopause symptoms: Many women start to enter into peri-menopausal hormone shifts as early as the 30’s. There are several unwanted hormone related symptoms that occur in women during this process such as: Decreased desire for sexual activity (aka low libido) Difficulty staying focused or “brain fog” Trouble falling asleep or staying asleep Decreased lean muscle mass or decreased muscle tone Less elasticity in the skin/ skin starts to sag/ fine lines and wrinkles occur Low energy levels Fatigue Mood Swings or Anxiety Decreased sense of well-being All of the above issues which are a direct cause of age related hormonal shifts can be treated with natural hormone therapy. This treatment method dates back to 1939 and can be safely managed to help improve patients’ quality of life during the aging process. What is hormone replacement therapy and is it safe? Often times, women have suboptimal testosterone levels causing many of the symptoms mentioned. Testosterone treatment may be recommended via cream or pellet therapy for a woman experiencing andropause, peri-menopause or menopause related symptoms which are described above. Testosterone Therapy: Testosterone therapy can be safely administered to men and women who are deficient in the hormone. Optimal levels often vary for each individual. Although suboptimal levels of testosterone are still considered ‘in a normal range’, we have found in medicine that our ‘normal ranges’ change with age. The natural decline of hormone production causes many issues for the aging male, including erectile dysfunction, loss of bone mass density, loss of stamina, loss of muscle mass, and decreased sense of well-being. Through years of clinical experience with closely monitoring the safe and effective administration of testosterone therapy, Samantha Thiry, APRN has been a pioneer in the field of the anti-aging medicine. Testosterone therapy can: Enhance erections for men Enhance sexual function for women Increase energy levels Increase lean muscle mass Increase stamina Increase sense of well-being Increase endorphin levels or ‘happy’ neurotransmitters Decrease irritability Increase sex drive or desire for sexual activity

Child birth, gravity, age and hormone shifts have a significant effect on the vaginal tissue. Also, some women suffer from medical issues at any age which can cause discomfort in the vaginal region. Problems which may be treated with vaginal rejuvenation: Leaking urine when you cough or sneeze Decreased sensation Difficulty reaching orgasm Vaginal Laxity (looseness) Vaginal dryness / decreased secretions What can we do to help you? The WOW PRP vaginal enhancement injection is a quick, minimal discomfort procedure which is performed in office and takes about 45 minutes to complete. The procedure uses a patient’s own, platelet rich plasma after a quick blood draw. The platelet rich plasma or ‘liquid gold’, is used in regenerative medicine to bring all of the body’s healing and growth factors to the tissue which it is injected to. PRP promotes healing in the vaginal tissue which helps with circulation, and ultimately vaginal sensation. This procedure may be recommended along with other vaginal rejuvenation procedures. What other vaginal rejuvenation procedures are offered? There are specific protocols including a photo-biomodulator device which is a very effective vaginal rejuvenation treatment which may be recommended. This device has been proven to help women with overall sexual satisfaction rating with a 95% success rate in improving vaginal sensation. The V-fit is a very successful treatment option which is available as a vaginal rejuvenation treatment option. Many patients have had huge success with the VFit treatment protocol. Age, stress, hormone changes and lack of sleep can all effect our sexual desire, or libido. It is important to address all contributing factors, which we aim to do with a patient-centered care approach to treatment recommendations. As a leader in the field of sexual, urological, and vaginal health, Samantha Thiry, APRN will help fine tune a treatment plan to help with your individual needs.

Erectile dysfunction is a difficult, yet very common issue for men. For example, 50% of men over 50 have some form of ED. What is ED? ED is defined as difficulty obtaining and maintaining erections. This is often a direct of multiple factors. Circulation plays a role in ED, therefore a history of high blood pressure, high cholesterol or being overweight can all take a toll on the small arteries and veins in the penile tissue which are responsible for obtaining and maintaining erections. Hormones, specifically testosterone plays a very important role in sex drive and erectile function so this will also be addressed during your consultation. A treatment plan which is fine tailored to your specific health status will likely improve not only your erectile function but also your overall quality of life. Extremely effective treatment methods for Erectile dysfunction include: PRP for Penile Enhancement Injection: This procedure is done in the office after a quick blood draw and lab procedure to separate the platelet rich plasma, or your body’s healing and growth factors, which are then used to be injected into the penile tissue after numbing the area. This procedure helps to regenerate the tissue in the penile tissue causing for better and stronger blood flow, in turn resulting in stronger erections that last longer. Some men report feeling their penis is larger after the procedure, while others report more sensitivity and increased sexual pleasure. Shockwave therapy for ED: LI-ESWL (Low intensity extra-corporeal shockwave lithotripsy) is a technology which is used to treat erectile dysfunction. By applying soundwaves through a hand piece, this treatment causes the arteries and veins in the penile tissue to regenerate, otherwise known as a process called angiogenesis. With training alongside some of the world’s most renowned sexual wellness providers, Samantha Thiry, NP will help you obtain the most applicable and effective treatment plan depending on severity of erectile dysfunction. Specific protocols have been created to have optimal results. Patients are sometimes able to completely go off of ED medications! Treatment regimens are also available to help men who suffer from: Abnormal penile curvature which is bothersome to the patient, otherwise known as Peyronie’s disease. Peyronie’s disease is the result of an abnormal plaque of scar tissue which forms in the penile shaft. Soundwaves in combination with specific medications or PRP for penile enhancement injection may be recommended treatments. Premature ejaculation- many men suffer from this issue and there are evidence -based treatment options available which can be discussed and reviewed upon consultation.

What is PRP and how is it used for hair loss? PRP is platelet rich plasma. It is all of your body’s healing and growth factors; it is the yellow part of your blood. After a quick, in office blood draw followed by a lab procedure, the yellow part of your blood is injected into the scalp for increased hair growth. How much will this re-grow my hair and how many treatments will I need? PRP for hair loss regrows your hair by 30-50%. Think of this procedure as ‘fertilizing’ the hair follicles on your scalp. Typically, 3-6 treatments are recommended depending on the degree of hair loss or thinning. Who can get PRP for hair loss? Anyone male or female who would like to thicken or increase their hair on their head. Examples of candidates for PRP for hairloss: Male patients experiencing hair thinning or patterned baldness Females with thinning hair from age or young women with damaged hair. Women or men who want to have Thicker hair in general for aesthetic purposes. FIVE-STAR REVIEW: “I had my PRP Treatment 3 weeks ago, and I’ve already seen dramatic change. My part line and crown have already filled in enough that I no longer think “thinning”, when I look at my hair. My hair thinning problem is a thing of the past. I have 2 more sessions to go, and my hair already looks so good, that I’m excited to see the full benefits. I’m so glad I made the decision to move forward with the treatment. I am also very thankful I landed in the very competent hands of Samantha!! I am so very fortunate! This woman knows her stuff, and her technique is precision. I am reaping the benefit of her knowledge, and that is the large part of my very successful PRP treatment. “ - Anonymous patient posted with permission

What is PRP Collagen Induction therapy? PRP collagen induction therapy is a combination of Microneedling and PRP. Microneedling is a skin rejuvenation procedure in which tiny needles are introduced into the skin to create microscopic channels. These tiny channels stimulate the skin’s natural ability to heal and regrow. Microneedling stimulates the body’s own wound healing systems to correct scars, dull skin, and fine to moderate lines and wrinkles. Common treatment areas include the face, neck, and chest. PRP/ Stem Cell therapy is your body’s growth and healing factors. After a simple blood draw and lab technique, PRP is applied to the face during the microneedling process for optimal results. How does collagen induction therapy work? Collagen induction therapy gives your skin a second chance to heal. When performed over acne scars, the micro-injuries caused by the procedure cause a major collagen production. The immune system responds by sending immune cells and increasing blood flow to the treated area. Second, cells in the skin produce new, healthy proteins such as collagen to rebuild the area. Lastly, microneedling causes the tissue to remodel itself, producing smooth, revitalized skin. Microneedling is also known as Collagen Induction Therapy. What does microneedling treat? Microneedling has been shown in clinical trials to improve the appearance of mild to moderate acne scars. This procedure can also be used to treat a wide variety of conditions including: Sun damage/hyperpigmentation Fine lines and wrinkles Surgical scars Scars from chickenpox or other injuries Stretch Marks What can I expect during a procedure? The procedure begins by the application of a topical numbing cream to your skin. While microneedling does not cause pain, it can be slightly uncomfortable—most patients describe feeling a vibration. A handheld device is then used to create microscopic tracks in the skin through problem areas, such as acne scars and wrinkles. A single microneedling procedure lasts under one hour. For optimal results, patients generally require 3 treatments, spaced 2-4 weeks apart, to achieve optimal results. What can I expect after a procedure? Collagen induction PRP therapy is a minimally invasive procedure with little to no downtime. Most patients return to work the next day. The skin will appear pink or mildly red immediately after the procedure—this is normal. Some patients also described feeling dry, itchy, or tender skin, though these symptoms resolve on their own in about 24 hours. For best results, patients should not wear makeup and avoid direct sunlight for one to two days after treatment.
