I have been to the Club Pilates on Lamar once before for an intro class. Today, I decided to attend the Center and Balance class with Genevieve as I have been under a significant amount of stress and was looking for a healthy way to decompress. I want to start by acknowledging that I arrived two minutes late. My mother was admitted to the hospital very early this morning, and I was attending the class in hopes of finding a brief distraction and some comfort. When I arrived, I stood at the front waiting for instructions, as the class had already begun and the front desk was unattended. Given that this was only my second time at the studio, I was unsure of the proper protocol. The instructor did not greet me, offer a smile, or provide any guidance on what I should do. Instead, she looked at her watch and continued teaching. Eventually, I walked in and took an empty reformer to join the class. At that point, she acknowledged me only to ask if I had grip socks, which were required. When I stated that I did not, she informed me that I would need to purchase a pair. The receptionist then stepped away from a reformer to assist me with the purchase. Feeling anxious and unwelcome, I asked the receptionist if I could cancel the class. She was very kind and encouraged me to stay after I briefly explained the morning I had experienced. I understand that Club Pilates has a strict schedule and that there is an established community within the class. However, I believe that acts of kindness go a long way, and one never knows what another person is going through. A simple smile, a brief welcome, and some direction from the instructor would have made a significant difference. While I understand she was in the middle of teaching, I believe she could have acknowledged me in a way that created a more inclusive experience. It was never my intention to be late or to disrupt the class; I simply had an incredibly difficult morning. I am rating this experience three stars because the workout was exactly what my body needed, the receptionist was professional and compassionate, and a fellow student offered me words of kindness after class. However, due to the lack of professionalism and the unwelcoming environment created by the instructor, I am uncertain if I will return to this specific location.

Very bad experience here. People at the the front desk do not communicate properly and I had issues with the membership cancellation and they had to take another payment from me as a final one even though I have communicated early that I will be out of state. They do not value customer satisfaction. They literally said you can just pay the final payment and need not show up. Total money waste experience and I did not find any change in 3 months. Ebony clearly said at the beginning that after a 3 month commitment I can cancel the membership anytime on the call and when I did the same, they came up with the email confirmation thing that I have read all the instructions and they are not responsible for anything now. Please read carefully all the instructions in the email as they would not communicate on the phone or in person. I would appreciate if the owner would step in and help me with a solution as I have been charged an additional $25 fee even though I have paid the final Payment.

I’ve been working for Club Pilates for over 6 months now but have been taking classes with them for over a year and I LOVE IT! Lately the Suspend & Circuit classes have been seeing a lot more of me but I still enjoy a great Center & Balanced class to prepare me for my week.

I had an incredibly frustrating experience at Club Pilates in Arlington, TX with Ebony at the front desk. I signed up for a 12:00 p.m. Sunday class because it was a time when my husband could watch our children for the intro classes that are available. I arrived at 11:59 a.m. and was immediately turned away. Ebony stated that, as a new member, I was required to arrive 15 minutes early and claimed the 30-minute class would somehow “bleed into” the 1:00 p.m. session. Under normal circumstances, I can understand enforcing a policy. However, there was not a single person in the class. The session was completely empty, yet I was still refused participation. What bothered me most was the lack of judgment and customer service. Turning away a paying prospective member from an empty class serves no one and only drives business away. Front-desk staff are there to welcome and retain customers, not create unnecessary barriers. If Ebony owned the studio, I doubt she would have sent a willing customer home from an empty class. Instead of feeling welcomed, I left feeling dismissed and undervalued. This was one of the least customer-focused experiences I’ve had at a fitness studio and left a very poor first impression of Club Pilates. It is people like Ebony that will unfortunately be replaced by AI due to lack of common sense.
