Dr. Edwards and Olivia were exceptional. I was having a bit of anxiety and Olivia was very kind and reassuring the entire visit. Dr. Edwards was great at helping me understand what was going on with my teeth. He took time to answer questions.

I came to Legacy Hill Dentistry with high hopes after being constantly disappointed by other dental offices. I was expecting better guidance and alternatives to our dental issues instead of immediately being pushed toward costly options. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the experience we had.
My husband went in for a dental emergency and paid out of pocket, yet he left without even a simple suggestion from Dr. Edwards’ office about what he could do in the meantime. No temporary solution, no basic advice—nothing. For an emergency visit, that’s incredibly disappointing.
Experiences like this make it hard to trust any dental provider, and it’s clear this office is more focused on money than on patient care. We’re now looking for another dental office that actually listens and offers real support.
Frequently Asked Questions About Legacy Hill Dentistry
How often to see a dentist?
A dental check-up every six months is typically recommended. However, your dentist may suggest more frequent visits if you're at higher risk for dental issues such as tooth decay or gum disease.
How often to brush/floss?
It's important to brush your teeth at least twice a day using fluoride toothpaste. Flossing should be done once daily to effectively remove plaque between teeth and along the gum line.
When to change your toothbrush?
Replace your toothbrush every 3-4 months, or earlier if the bristles become frayed. It's also advisable to get a new toothbrush after you've been ill. Remember to rinse your toothbrush with hot water after each use.
Should I use an electric toothbrush instead of a manual toothbrush?
Both manual and electric toothbrushes can be effective when used correctly. Proper brushing technique and duration (2-3 minutes, twice daily) are key. Electric toothbrushes may be beneficial for children or individuals with limited hand dexterity. Consult your dentist for personalized recommendations on toothbrush selection and proper brushing techniques.
Why do I sometimes have bad breath?
Bad breath often results from inadequate oral hygiene. Food particles left in the mouth are broken down by bacteria, producing unpleasant sulfur compounds. Other factors include smoking and tooth decay. Regular brushing, flossing, and staying hydrated can help control bad breath. While rare, persistent bad breath may indicate other health issues. Discuss any concerns with your dentist.
How often should I floss?
Flossing should be done at least once daily, preferably in the evening. If desired, you may floss more frequently for optimal oral hygiene.
What can I expect during a dental check-up?
A typical dental check-up involves updating your health history, taking necessary x-rays, and a professional cleaning by a dental hygienist. The dentist will then examine your teeth and discuss any required treatments. You should leave with a clear understanding of your dental health and any recommended procedures.
What causes teeth to decay?
Tooth decay primarily results from demineralization and bacterial activity. Additional factors include diet, ongoing health conditions, and insufficient oral hygiene practices.
Why don't my dentures fit like they used to?
Dentures may not fit as well after 3-5 years due to changes in your mouth's bone structure. The absence of natural teeth leads to gradual bone shrinkage, affecting denture fit. It's important to note that using excess adhesive to compensate for loose dentures is not recommended, as it can accelerate bone loss.
I am interested in changing the shape of my teeth. What options are available?
Several options exist for altering tooth shape, including tooth contouring, dental fillings, veneers, crowns, or orthodontic treatments. A consultation with your dentist is the best starting point to determine the most suitable cosmetic dentistry approach for your specific needs.
