Helping our patients maintain a healthy mouth and smile is the main goal of general dentistry. We prefer to provide more minor, preventive care than to see patients suffer with more intensive treatments from a problem that was not managed in time. We want to ensure that your oral health is in its optimal state and positively contributing to the health of your entire body. We are here to brighten your smile and pave the way for a brighter life. Cleanings And Exams Scaling/Root Planing Sealants & Fluoride Digital X-Rays Composite (White) Fillings Crowns & Bridges (Same Day/Cerec) Partials & Dentures Root Canals Extractions 3D Printed Nightguards Cleanings And Exams Having a dental practice perform a checkup and regular cleaning gives a preventive approach to dental care. These general dentistry treatments help prevent problems with your teeth, gums and jaw bones, or they catch and manage problems before they worsen. During your visit, our doctors will take a picture of the current standing of your dental health and what would be needed to keep your oral hygiene in its best state. Sealants & Fluoride Sealants are thin, resin coatings applied to the grooves of your premolars and molar teeth, to help prevent cavities on the chewing surfaces. Sealants can be placed at any age, but are typically applied to those under the age of 18. Topical Fluoride treatments help to remineralize the enamel of your teeth to strengthen and help prevent cavities. Digital x-rays Aside from being one of the most cutting-edge technologies in dentistry, digital x-rays have many benefits including: enhanced/high resolution images drastically reduced radiation to the patient (up to 70% less) instant development enlargement options to help locate cavities improved diagnostics electronic storage easily stored and shared (email) environmentally friendly Composite (White) Fillings Composite fillings act as a dentistry solution for problems such as tooth decay or cracks. A composite filling is a tooth-colored plastic and glass mixture used to restore decayed teeth. This procedure is also utilized for cosmetic improvements of the smile by fixing any discoloration or reshaping any disfigured teeth. Crowns & Bridges (Same Day/Cerec) A crown is necessary for a broken tooth, a tooth with excessive decay, a root canal treated tooth, or a cracked tooth. We use CEREC Dental Technology to scan (a digital impression), design and mill (fabricate) your crown all in the same appointment. This eliminates the need to wear an annoying and uncomfortable temporary, as well as saving you the time from missing work or portions out of another day for an additional appointment. A bridge is a method to replace a missing tooth by crowning the teeth on either side of an edentulous space. The same technology used for fabricating a crown can be used to make your bridge. Partials & Dentures A partial denture is removable dental appliance usually used to replace several missing teeth. Partials can be made with a metal framework, or with a flexible resin acrylic, and is an economical way to replace several teeth. Dentures are a removal appliance to replace all of your missing teeth by fabricating artificial teeth and gums that are formed to your mouth. Regardless of what kind of denture you may need (partial or full), they will be custom designed to fit your mouth. Root Canals A root canal is a dental procedure used to remove the pulp (nerve) of an infected/abscessed tooth in order to alleviate the pain and remove the infection, allowing you to avoid an extraction of the infected tooth. Extractions As Dentists, we strive to the best of our ability for every patient to save and maintain all of their teeth. There are however, unfortunate instances in which this is not possible. In those instances, fractured, damaged, severely decayed, or otherwise non- restorable teeth are removed surgically. Our office makes every effort to make this procedure as comfortable and stress-free as possible.

A beautiful smile is one of the most sought after cosmetic features in the world. People from all backgrounds and professions want a bright, straight smile, and we are here to help turn that desire into reality. Whether through minor adjustments or major treatment plans, our cosmetic dentistry practice aims to improve your smile and help you build confidence in the way your teeth look. Veneers Porcelain Crowns Teeth Whitening Veneers Porcelain Veneers are wafer-thin, custom-made shells of tooth-colored materials designed to cover the front surface of teeth to improve appearance. These shells are bonded to the front of the teeth changing their color, shape, size, or length. We recommend this treatment to anyone experiencing discoloration that cannot be fixed with whitening or if your teeth are damaged. Porcelain veneers are also an option if you’re unhappy with the shape or look of your natural teeth. Porcelain Crowns Getting porcelain crowns is the best way to have a very natural looking smile. They are used when simply filling in a tooth is not an option. There are times when the decay is so bad that we just have to use a porcelain crown. We also use them with severely damaged teeth or teeth that have already had multiple fillings. Porcelain crowns are attached right to your teeth so that they can function, even when you bite something really hard! There are several types of porcelain crowns so it is important to discuss which type is best for you with your dentist. Teeth Whitening One of the most common desires patients have is whiter teeth. When considering your options it is important to consult your dentist to make sure you have all the facts and understand how they may affect your teeth and mouth. Many people think the coloring of teeth is due to plaque or dirt. But a variety of factors can affect the color of your teeth including food, drink, tobacco, age, injury, and medications. Understanding what is causing the discoloration is important to properly whiten your teeth. Teeth whitening products use bleaches (either hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide) to break stains into smaller pieces, which make them harder to see and make your teeth brighter. These bleaches do not work on all teeth, so it is important to consult your dentist before any treatment. Whitening will not be effective on caps, veneers, crowns, fillings or if the color is caused by medications or injury. Options for teeth whitening usually include whitening toothpastes, at-home bleaching, and in-office bleaching. Of course effectiveness, safety, and results vary greatly between products, so consult with your dentist if you are considering these choices. If the bleach in a whitening product gets through the enamel of your teeth, it can irritate the nerves and cause tooth sensitivity. This sensitivity is usually temporary, but overuse of whiteners can cause lasting damage. If you are experiencing prolonged side effects from teeth whitening, contact us right away.

Dental Implants, are second ONLY to our natural, God given teeth. Whether you are missing one or all of your teeth, dental implants can be placed to restore the form, function, esthetics, and confidence that you deserve. Unlike removable teeth and dental appliances, implants stimulate and therefore help in maintaining the jaw bone. A full mouth reconstruction is a comprehensive, life changing dental procedure designated for patients with severely worn dentition. This is accomplished by opening the bite, crowning all of the teeth, and restoring the mouth back to proper form, function, & aesthetics. We usually recommend complex full-mouth rehabilitation when patients have multiple problems in their mouths. We help people who are suffering from gum disease, discoloration, tooth decay, crooked teeth, and other problems, usually all at the same time. Before we start your rehabilitation, we will need to do a thorough examination with X-rays to determine what treatments you will need. Since every mouth is different, we create a treatment plan just for you.

The TeethXpress procedure offers a much better solution to achieving an attractive, natural-looking smile. Your dental implant-supported teeth will allow you to eat your favorite foods again and go about your daily life with confidence! Dr. Akhrass is a Certified TeethXpress Provider and can help determine if the TeethXpress procedure is the solution for your your new smile. Call our office today to schedule your appointment. Stop Jawbone Loss with Dental Implants Did you know that tooth loss leads to bone loss? Missing one or more teeth can lead to a substantial loss of jawbone in your lower face. And the loss of adequate jawbone over time has consequences. A partial-denture usually becomes very loose. A fixed bridge can separate from your gums causing food to become trapped, a serious hygiene issue. Losing the jawbone can increase facial wrinkles and cause you to look prematurely aged. The good news is if you are a candidate for TeethXpress an entirely new set of teeth can be placed all on four, five, or six dental implants in as little as one day while stopping the jawbone loss in the process! TeethXpress Fixes Common Denture Problems Difficulty chewing certain foods, often leading to poor nutrition Slurred speech and embarrassing clicks, whistling or smacking Slipping or moving of the denture Gum and mouth irritation Pain caused by poor-fitting dentures TeethXpress Benefits Eat the foods you love, while enjoying a better diet and improved overall health No more embarrassment and difficulty speaking because of slipping dentures Increased comfort with reduced gum tissue irritation No more costly and inconvenient denture adhesives TeethXpress is minimally invasive and can generally be completed in one day Visit Us Our goal is for you to leave our office with a memorable and enjoyable experience, which is why our welcoming and compassionate staff will do everything they can to make you feel right at home. Same Day Emergencies If you have a dental emergency, please call our office. While Akhrass Dental Implant & Cosmetic Center does not accept Walk-Ins, if you will please call first, we strive to treat as many same day emergencies as we can.

Clear Aligner Therapy Clear Aligner Therapy is a modern alternative to straighten your teeth without wires or metal. Clear Aligner Therapy involves a series of custom trays designed specifically for you and the plan that Dr. Akhrass creates to create to move your teeth. The trays are made from a smooth plastic that covers your teeth and gradually moves them into place. Retainers Retainers are used to maintain the position of your teeth, after they have been moved orthodontically. Here at Akhrass Dental Implant & Cosmetic Center, retainers are made for our patients who have completed clear aligner therapy, as well as for existing patients who have been treated with traditional braces by an orthdontist.

Here at Akhrass Dental Implant & Cosmetic Center, we strive to deliver painless & stress-free appointments, there are always instances in which your past experiences have affected your current dental situations. For this reason, we offer comfortable sedation dentistry to reduce your fears, so that you can obtain the healthy mouth and smile that you desire in two different methods. Oral Sedation IV Sedation Oral Sedation In general, swallowing pills is a normal habit of most Americans. This is why in dentistry, the Oral Sedation method involves the patient swallowing 1-2 tablets of a sedative medication in order to accomplish a safe and comfortable level of sedation to complete the required procedure. IV Sedation IV Sedation is widely used during dental treatment to relieve anxiety. Most people who receive IV sedation dentistry, fall asleep, and have little to no memory of their dental treatment when they awake. IV sedation offers a safe and immediate onset of sedation for your dental procedure. IV sedation is also an excellent addition to further the effects of oral sedation.

3D Printing 3D Printing is used in dentistry to create several different dental appliances such as night guards, surgical guides for precise implant placement, and dental models for ortho retainer and/or clear aligner fabrication. Surgical Guides A Surgical Guide is a cutting edge technological tool that assists Dr. Akhrass in the precise placement of a dental implant, in 3D, prior to your surgery. A 3D x-ray and intraoral scan are taken to obtain a digital impression of the patients teeth. The files are then merged together, and the guides are developed using imaging software, which can then be saved into a 3D printable file. The surgical guide is then printed, IN OFFICE, to be used during surgery. Please note, that most offices will chargeanywhere from $300-500 in addition to your implant surgery cost in order to take advantage of this technology. The Akhrass Dental Implant & Cosmetic Center does not charge this fee to our implant patients. All on X All on X is a procedure in which 4-6 implants are placed in either the upper or lower jaw. Design software is then used to create and then fabricate a temporary arch of teeth to be worn while the newly placed implants are integrating into your bone. (Dr. Akhrass uses a highly sophisticated, extremely precise, dental 3D Printer, IN OFFICE, to create your temporary arch). 3D X-RAYS (Cone Beam CT) A Cone Beam CT is a 3D x-ray that displays the underlying bone structure, as well as the nerve pathways and soft tissues. This is an excellent tool that is used in our office, not only for superior diagnostic ability, but also for placing dental implants precisely. CEREC ( Same Day) CEREC is another phenomenal technology that is implemented by the Akhrass Dental Implant & Cosmetic Center. CEREC is an acronym for: Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics. This technology is used to fabricate many different dental restorations, in office, SAME DAY, using a dental mill (a device that carves out crowns and/or bridges).

Soft Tissue Removal Dental Lasers are phenomenal instruments to remove soft tissue from the mouth. One of the top indications for using a dental laser is to remove excessive soft tissue in regard to uneven gum levels. This laser cauterizes as it cuts, therefore eliminates bleeding during the procedure, therefore heightening its appeal. Frenectomy There are instances in which the Frenum (the fleshy piece of soft tissue that connects your lip or tongue to your gums is longer than necessary). In these instances, a dental laser the preferred method for Frenum removal over using a scalpel blade. Crown Lengthening Crown Lengthening is a procedure which is designed to remove gum tissue and sometimes bone, to expose more of the tooth surface. Performed for one of two different reasons, whether esthetics, or functional crown retention, laser crown lengthening is a far superior method over the traditional scalpel blade and drill. Fibroma Removal An Oral Fibroma is a common, benign, firm yet smooth scar tissue usually caused in the mouth from accidental biting of the inside of your lips or cheeks. Dental lasers are the preferred method for fibroma removal over the traditional scalpel blade method, due to the lack of excessive bleeding in the mouth. Why use a Dentist for Botox or Fillers? Dentists are highly skilled medical professionals who go through extensive training to qualify. During their training years, dentists will acquire in depth knowledge of the anatomy of the face from the forehead down to the chin. Dentists carry out far more invasive procedures in the facial area than any other healthcare specialist. Dentists are perhaps one of the most accurate professionals when it comes to injecting, because they regularly inject the gums during dental procedures. Like every injection from Dr. Akhrass, he strives to keep them relatively pain free and comfortable. Dentists are not much more than a place to go for dental treatment, and they are becoming increasingly recognized as a place where they can provide a one stop shop for Botox, Fillers, & Dental Treatment. All botox and fillers must be preordered as we do not keep this in stock Botox (Forehead & Eyes) Dermal Fillers (Lower Face & Lips) Lenoir City Esthetics Botox (Forehead & Eyes) Botox is a neurotoxin which paralyzes the injected muscles, therefore temporarily relaxing the facial muscles that cause wrinkles in the forehead and around the eyes for a period of 3-4 months. Dermal Fillers (Lower Face & Lips) Dermal Fillers are used typically in the lower third of your face to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and skin folds. Fillers are also great for increasing the fullness and contours of your lips and can last anywhere from 9-18 months. Visit Us Our goal is for you to leave our office with a memorable and enjoyable experience, which is why our welcoming and compassionate staff will do everything they can to make you feel right at home.
