I’ve been attending classes at Pure Barre Knoxville for nearly a decade, and I’m just as obsessed today as I was when I first started. As a former college athlete, it was really important to me to find a workout I loved after retiring from swimming—and Pure Barre quickly became that for me.
Even after all these years, every class still challenges me in the best way, and I continue to feel stronger with the variety of class formats they offer. The instructors are incredibly supportive, and the sense of community at PBK is truly unmatched. It truly is my happy place!

I was just passing through Knoxville and decided to take a class here. The staff were very kind, but overall it didn’t meet my expectations. The class was $30 for 50 minutes, and I was required to buy $20 grip socks to participate, even though I’ve taken plenty of barre classes and have always been fine with my regular socks.
I’m used to a more strength-focused barre style with larger, more visible movements, while this class leaned heavily into micro-movements. The transitions were hard to follow as a visual learner, and I didn’t feel very challenged. It just wasn’t the best fit for me—especially for the price.

I started going to Pure Barre consistently this month and love it! The workouts are different every time so you never get bored and the 50 minutes goes by so fast. Each week, I feel stronger. I also appreciate the instructors’ focus on form. They make adjustments and thoroughly explain each move so you can ensure you’re getting the most effective workout. I highly recommend if you’re looking to do low impact strength training or even as a supplement to other routines since it involves those smaller muscle groups that usually aren’t worked by more traditional exercises.
