In addition, X-rays and blood studies may be ordered and reviewed as indicated. Endoscopy, which is a procedure using a flexible lighted instrument to inspect the lining of the digestive tract, might also be suggested in order to reach a more accurate diagnosis. Because we are a group specializing in only the digestive system, each patient also should have a general medical doctor to treat common medical problems. If another physician referred you to our office, a summary of our findings and recommendations will be sent to him or her at the completion of your evaluation. Your personal physician will carry out the treatment plan unless your condition requires continued care.
