I’ve generally had really positive experiences with Club Pilates, which is why this particular class (CP Cardio Sculpt 1.5) was so disappointing. I’ve been practicing Pilates for about two years across different studios and instructors, and I’m typically accustomed to (and appreciative of) being corrected on my form. This was the first time I left a Pilates class feeling genuinely singled out rather than supported.
It was a very small class, with two participants positioned together on one side of the room and me by myself on the other. I’m a visual learner, so when I was confused by some of the verbal cues, I didn’t have another participant nearby to reference. After my first mistake, the instructor (Jennifer) immediately asked if this was my first class. Throughout the class, I received a disproportionate amount of attention and corrections, including being told “you’re doing it wrong” and then “you’re still doing it wrong” when I didn’t immediately understand what was being asked of me.
The corrections themselves were not the problem. I’ve taken challenging and intensive Pilates classes before and have received plenty of corrections without ever feeling uncomfortable. It was the tone and manner in which they were delivered. Jennifer's tone came off as condescending, and I increasingly felt scrutinized instead of supported. That put me on edge and ultimately made it even more difficult to follow the class.
The other women in the class were incredibly kind and welcoming, and I normally find Club Pilates to have a much more comfortable and inclusive atmosphere than some other studios I’ve tried. Unfortunately, my experience with Jennifer was very different and left me reluctant to return to this location.

Excellent staff! The front desk staff are so kind and accommodating. I highly recommend taking the free intro class to check out the lovely calm space they have. I’m especially enjoying taking this time for myself to get stronger and improve my balance and posture.

This was my first pilates class in a couple years. Valerie made it such an easy transition back, she was great at giving clear instructions and encouraging people to individualize their pace. The workout was fun and challenging yet also relaxing. Everyone is super friendly which is always a plus! I’ll be back soon!
