I visited Lenscrafter’s in Macy (Bartlett). I went in to discuss my online purchase as I was not happy with the finished product. The lenses do not seem to be in the frames properly and there is whiteness reflecting around the frame. I was waiting and browsing when Felicia, while assisting someone else, asked if she could help me. I approached her and placed the glasses on and told her my issue. Felicia proceeds to tell me that she cannot do anything about the look of my lenses because that is what happens when you buy frames and try to put cheap lenses in them. Ok slightly - offended but ok, I just need glasses. I told her that I was also concerned about the white reflection and overall look. Felicia tells me that this is because I am “dark complected (referring to my complexion)” and I cannot wear any color frame. I am assuming she saw the look on my face because she quickly said, “ We girls with melanin, have to be careful with our frame choices!!” I was so offended I couldn’t even respond. I tried to reach a resolution, but I was mentally out of it, so I ended up walking out instead of saying what I wanted to say to her in that moment. I have reached out to corporate, and I am waiting on a response. I am never shopping in that store again. This is not my 1st encounter with Felicia, I noticed all of the microaggression and insinuations when she was in the mall’s Lenscrafters which is exactly why I moved to Macys Lenscrafters. I was so disappointed to see that she also moved. I am always friendly and professional with anyone in business, but I don’t think that even matters. I am sure that she’s projecting on a certain type of customer and I will not let her get my out of character so I am leaving this review as a warning. OAN Dr. McIntosh is absolutely amazing, very nice, thorough and friendly!!

Frequently Asked Questions About LensCrafters at Macy's

How do I know if my child needs glasses?

Taking your child to an optometrist for an eye exam is the best way to learn if your child needs glasses. Many children who need glasses aren’t aware that they do. Signs of vision problems in children include sitting too close to the television, squinting, sensitivity to light, difficulty with eye-hand coordination, and avoiding visual activities like reading and drawing. To see if your child needs glasses, schedule your child’s eye exam today.

Is a contact lens exam different than an eye exam?

A normal, comprehensive eye exam will allow your optometrist to determine if your eyes are healthy enough to wear contact lenses. During your contact lens fitting, detailed measurements of your eyes will be taken to determine the right contact lenses for you. There is an additional fee for a contact lens fitting and evaluation for all contact lens patients (both new and established patients). Schedule your eye exam today to have all of your questions about contact lenses answered.
