Club Pilates has great staff and their follow up is on point- making sure I’m happy with the studio and the classes I attend. Kim is a fantastic instructor 🌟
I generally enjoy the workouts and the instructors at this location are great, but the studio’s management policies regarding class cancellations need a serious reality check.
Today, my 1:00 PM class was cancelled due to "low enrollment" via an automated email sent at 10:00 AM. Like many busy people, I don't keep push notifications on for every single promotional or automated email I receive. Because of this, I drove all the way to the studio only to be told at the front desk that my class wasn't happening.
The most frustrating part is the double standard. If a member cancels within 12 hours of a class, we are heavily penalized with a late fee. However, the studio feels it is acceptable to cancel on members with only 3 hours' notice, leaving us with a wasted trip, a lost workout for the week (since waitlists are always full), and absolutely zero compensation or courtesy credit.
Furthermore, after talking to members of other Club Pilates franchises, I learned that canceling for low enrollment is actually very rare. Most studios will still hold the class even for just one or two people, treating it as a semi-private session. If this specific studio insists on cancelling, and a class truly has only 1 or 2 people booked, taking two minutes to actually call those members instead of sending a silent email would be a much better and more respectful business practice.
I hope franchise management reconsiders this one-sided policy. Members respect the studio's time by adhering to the 12-hour rule; the studio should respect our time in return.
Edit/Update after owner's reply: The response below completely misses the point of my review. I am not arguing against the 12-hour cancellation policy for members. My complaint is that the STUDIO cancelled on me with only 3 hours' notice via a silent email, and could not be bothered to make a 2-minute phone call to the 1 or 2 affected members to spare them a wasted drive. Lecturing me on why members get penalized does not excuse the studio's own poor communication and double standards.

I love Club Pilates! I have finally found a workout that I enjoy doing and don’t have to drag myself to. I genuinely look forward to classes and wish I had time to take more. The instructors at the Indian Land location are amazing and I love taking all the different types. If you are looking for a great place to work out and feel amazing about yourself, definitely check out Club Pilates!
Shout Out - Club Pilates Indian Land Daisy Lane
I've been going the past month and they are amazing.
I can't walk the treadmill/workout with weights because of joint issues - but I absolutely LOVE Pilates! Guided exercise without all the flailing and loud music works for me. i.e. tried Orangetheory and it was a hard NO for my ears and body🥹
I walk in sore/slow but feel so much better every time I leave.
Carol is the Manager and so responsive, even via Text. She truly cares about the guests and her facility. I've taken classes with Gina, Jessica, Susan and Cheryl. I highly recommend classes with ALL of them (I def want to try a class with Kyle but too early for me lol!)
Jessica is such a sweetheart, Cheryl will get you 'jumping' like a spaceman in Cardio (you are on your back), Gina is from NJ (missed the accent), Susan is also a seasoned pro and loves what she does.
They talk through every move, walk over to help adjust form and provide guidance. It honestly was one of the best decisions I made to get out daily and MOVE.
The other guests are wonderful too, women of all ages and sizes that love Pilates for the gentleness on our bodies. A few guys too of course!
I enjoy the sense of community - but don't get me started on how much I love Gina's playlists! 😍
I take almost all Level 1but the Level 1.5 are do-able too. FYI I bought Unlimited which means I can go to any location, but I stick to this one and take classes 6 days a week. It will be 7 days once they add more classes 🥰
Almost forgot - they are in a strip mall they are still building out - their Studio is right next to Lowes Food and Costco is close too, so I grab groceries on the way home (gas is cheaper in SC too..)
This is my third Club Pilates studio (I’ve moved around a lot!), and unfortunately is the one I’ve been most disappointed in. The instructors are kind, but the staff does not return communications effectively and does not do everything in their power to maintain client relationships.
I enjoyed my first month with the studio, but when they decided to change the class schedule in May, it didn’t align well with my personal schedule. And that’s totally fine! I requested twice, however, to be transferred down to a lower payment plan (4 classes/month vs 8) and staff did not follow through with my request despite assuring me they would take care of it as we ended the call. My renewal date was 5/24, and I called in on 5/18 to change my payment plan. I was told that it would be taken care of. On 5/23, a staff member reached out to me via text; I checked my profile, saw that I was still on the 8 classes/month plan, and asked for the situation to be ameliorated. The individual stopped responding to my texts. My class on 5/25 was canceled and I received an email saying I would get a credit back—the credit was never put onto my account. I called today (5/29) to try and get all this sorted, only to be told it was “unfortunate” that I was disappointed with my experience. A credit was put onto my account in lieu of the one I never received, but I was told I only had 1 week to use it. When I asked if I could use that credit for my next class instead of the one from the 8-pack I currently have, I was told they could not do that. At this point, I asked if I could just cancel my membership with the studio. I was told that since my next invoice date is on 6/24 and I am requesting to cancel on 5/29, I still have to pay the 6/24 invoice because I am 5 days late. Never mind that I have been trying since 5/18 to get my payment plan adjusted, or that their staff have failed to communicate with me on the status of my requests.
Words are not enough to describe my complete and utter disappointment with this studio. I’ve always loved pilates as something fun, grounding, and challenging; yes, it can be more expensive than other fitness options, but I loved getting to meet other like-minded people in a safe space. This is the first time I’ve found myself agreeing with the people who say that pilates studios are money hungry and overrated.
There are a ton of other Club Pilates studios in the area. From my understanding, this one is also partnered with Waxhaw and Steele Creek, so just be warned.
