  Great place to get eye exam and glasses. Open 7 days a week. Took my insurance. Great service. Very comvenient, courteous and competent. I highly recommend.

  I had a great experience at LensCrafters on Cross Hill Road. Jean provided amazing customer service from start to finish. What stood out most was that she genuinely cared about finding the right solution for me when I was trying to solve an issue regarding my prescription change. The doctor was amazing too. The eye exam was very thorough. Everything was explained clearly and I left feeling confident about my prescription. Thank you to Jean, the doctor and the whole team.

  I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience at the LensCrafters Cross Hill location in Columbia. I had previously stopped going to this location because of a poor eye exam experience in 2024, but I decided to give them another chance because this location is closer to me. I initially had my eye exam at the Columbia mall location, but because it was a Sunday, they could not verify my insurance benefits, so I ultimately went to Cross Hill to select my glasses. When I picked up my glasses on September 10, I discovered they were not what I needed. I explained that I needed glasses I could wear throughout the day, not just for reading. The employee explained the difference between my 2024 glasses and the new prescription, and the glasses had to be reordered with the appropriate lenses. Because I live about 50 minutes away, I asked if the replacement glasses could be shipped to my home. I was told they would arrive in approximately seven days or less. On September 17, I called because I had not received them. Kevin told me they were being inspected and would be ready either that day or the next, then mailed to me. I asked a very simple question: Were they being shipped to the store first and then to me, or were they coming directly from another location? Instead of answering my question, Kevin said, “Don’t worry, Miss King. You’re going to get your glasses,” and laughed. He never answered what I actually asked. He also told me his manager was standing beside him listening to what he was telling me. If he didn’t know the answer, he should have asked someone who did instead of dismissing my question. I waited about 20 minutes, called back, and specifically asked to speak with the manager, Jean. I was told she was assisting another customer and would call me back. I waited, but had not received a call from her by the time I submitted my complaint. I also called LensCrafters customer service and was told that I could complete a survey and wait up to five more days for someone to contact me. I am paying hundreds of dollars for glasses that I need for everyday use. I should not have to repeatedly call, wait for answers, and chase down information about an order that I have already paid for. The lack of communication, follow-up, and professionalism I experienced is unacceptable. This was not good customer service. I am extremely disappointed in LensCrafters, particularly this location, and I expect better from a company that I am spending my money with. This needs to be addressed and the customer service needs to improve.
