  MY appointment with DR WU was great but Lense Cafter really needs to send her more doctors. Because when I first got diagnosed with retinal disease I lived in Myrtle Beach and the Lense Cafter there had more doctors that I didn't have to wait long.

  The openings for appointments while every other eye doctor in town is booked months out should have been a red flag. I was scheduled at 9am and get in the building with one other gentleman right as they open. I sit down and fill out some paperwork. The other gentleman says he has a follow up and so he goes back first. They take me back and do the first part of my vision exam and then I wait. It’s only been about ten minutes or so. The techs at this office were very nice. One takes my glasses to read the script. This is when I had the unpleasant experience of meeting Dr. Wu. She enters the room while the tech is talking to me and immediately is short with her. She fusses at her about it “taking too long to have me ready.” Ma’am it’s been max ten minutes. She fusses that they have lots of appointments. From what I can tell Dr. Wu is the only doctor meaning she’s making the decisions on appointment times so if there is too many that’s on her. She asks the tech is the machine is programmed to my lenses. The tech says yes. I look - the machine says -1.00 for both eyes. That’s not my prescription. Then we start the exam. Dr. Wu gets frustrated with ME during this. Mind you I haven’t gotten my eyes tested since 2024 - I told her this because I was expecting a big change in my prescriptions . She flips between 1 or 2 and I pick 2. She says 2 or 3 and I pick 3. She pulls the thing away and tells me that 3 was actually 1 so she doesn’t understand why I told her 2 the first time. At one point she opens both eyes ports and is asking me questions and I keep trying to clarify if she wants me to use my left or my right (as the machine is forcing me to focus on one or the other.) and she is becoming more irritated with me. She eventually produces a slightly lower script but won’t give it to me because she thinks it’s wrong. She tells me the pressure in my eye is high and my corneas are thin. She tells me I have dry eyes (I don’t.) which is making my vision worse. I had just had an extensive eye exam on Thursday with a specialist who tested my eye and said my pressure was fine. I try to explain to her my other vision issues (like I have 4th nerve palsy.) and she says we will do everything in 2 weeks and to schedule my new appointment at “no cost.” She also tells me I need to bring her the paper script of my eye prescription in two weeks. That I need to call my old eye doctor and bring it to her. She read the script off my glasses, their own site says you don’t need the paper script either the box your contacts come in or your glasses. When I go out to the desk she once again fusses at her staff who is trying to ask her a simple question that they are behind schedule. It was very unprofessional. I canceled and made an appointment with an eye doctor all my friends see. The appointment isn’t until December and I’ll have to pay for it out of pocket (because now I used my insurance one year visit on this place.) but at least I’ll know I’m getting quality answer. They also have an F rating with the BBB for anyone who is considering going here.

  This place had the look and feel of a up town boutique but I assure you that everyone that's there, has a genuine down to earth demeanor. Everyone is so helpful and knowledgeable. No matter how much bustling that's going on, someone will help you. High pressure selling after your exam, nope! They want to take care of your eyes not your wallet! This will always be my number #1 eye care center. If you are on the fence trying to decide on where to get your care, don't give it a second thought! Go! 🚶‍♀️ 🚶‍♂️ Thank you Wu!

  Dr. Wu is the best, she takes her time to explain what is going on with your eyes the most important thing is that Dr. Wu listen to you, She answer all questions you have. You don't find to many Doctors like her once again Dr. Wu is the best. Thanks.

  Inefficient. Terrible experience. I completed all patient paperwork online and arrived early. Then we waited for my daughter's eye exam for 1.5 hours past her appointment time without being seen for even the chart reading or anything. At that point I had to tell the staff we couldn't wait any longer and that we would have to cancel and book elsewhere. No telling how much longer if would have been if we had stayed.
