I went in for my appointment and the doctor and staff were incredibly rude and made me feel like I was disturbing them. There was no one back for an eye appointment at all, so it was just the staff and myself, no one said “hi” or “welcome in.” Instead it was “what can we do?” There were two women at the desk and the one looked at me like, how dare I come in and disturb them just sitting there, and she was the one who did my screening! I asked a question about why they do the air blowing in the eye because I just genuinely never knew why and I was curious, and you would’ve thought I just told her that Christmas was canceled. I’ve had eye exams all my life, but sometimes you just go with the flow and don’t ask questions on why they do certain things, but now I know to never ask them anything, and when she took me into the exam room, she slammed the door shut. The doctor just came in, said “hi” and then we sat there in silence before he even introduced himself. He wasn’t personable whatsoever, and again, made me feel like I was inconveniencing him. Plus, he clearly just came from lunch or had been eating before he came in and when his hands were adjusting the different lenses, all I smelled were onions. Not a faint smell that you really had to look for, but a, hit you in the face scent. He asked me about my lenses and I mentioned that it’s been a few years since I’ve been to an optometrist, so I wasn’t really sure what the lenses were or what all they included, even the same with my contacts. He looked at me like I was a complete moron and how dare I not know. They pushed me to get my eyes dilated and told them no, twice, and he said “so, you don’t want the more expensive contacts..” No, I don’t, I want what my insurance will cover and nothing more, I don’t need anything fancy. That also seemed like that annoyed him. I honestly hate being the person that writes a review as I normally don’t, because I know that my experience can be completely different from another person’s. However, the Visionworks in the same mall, also took my insurance and I ended up going there afterwards and had a completely different, and much better, experience. Their glasses at LensCrafters are so expensive, I couldn’t find anything under $350, which is only the frames! I bust my ass for my money and there’s no way that I would pay that kind of expense on glasses. I honestly will never go back there for any exam or glasses because it was just a really bad experience and I don’t like being made to feel like I’m not welcome, it was very uncomfortable. I’d honestly encourage people to go to Visionworks 100%

Very friendly staff who allowed me plenty of time to find the perfect frames. Had a bunch of them and they successfully helped me find the perfect ones. The hardest thing is having to wait for them to arrive!

Frequently Asked Questions About LensCrafters

How do I know if my child needs glasses?

Taking your child to an optometrist for an eye exam is the best way to learn if your child needs glasses. Many children who need glasses aren’t aware that they do. Signs of vision problems in children include sitting too close to the television, squinting, sensitivity to light, difficulty with eye-hand coordination, and avoiding visual activities like reading and drawing. To see if your child needs glasses, schedule your child’s eye exam today.

Is a contact lens exam different than an eye exam?

A normal, comprehensive eye exam will allow your optometrist to determine if your eyes are healthy enough to wear contact lenses. During your contact lens fitting, detailed measurements of your eyes will be taken to determine the right contact lenses for you. There is an additional fee for a contact lens fitting and evaluation for all contact lens patients (both new and established patients). Schedule your eye exam today to have all of your questions about contact lenses answered.
