Let me start by saying the people who work here are wonderful. This review is entirely based on LensCrafters as a company and their business operations.
To start, when I booked my appointment, no where did it tell me they no longer have a doctor in the office. I’ve been going to LensCrafters for almost 15 years and have always seen an optometrist in person. Now, they only have technicians in the office and the doctor sees you virtually. Which would be fine, except I have a rare eye disease (which they obviously know about from my 15 years of medical records). So I came in, not knowing there was no doctor there, went through all the standard tests and procedures, just to be told “oh sorry the virtual doctor is refusing to see you do to your medical history.” So I had to reschedule for the one day a month they have a real doctor. I don’t know how they find it acceptable to not clearly tell patients they won’t actually be seeing a doctor. And I don’t know how they find it acceptable to not review charts ahead of time and warn you the doctor won’t see you and you’re appointment will be a waste of time if you’re a child or you have any kind of eye disease.
Fast forward to my appointment and they want to redo my entire exam and all tests because “the computer can’t carry over information to the next appointment.” And LensCrafters has a history of having the most useless computer systems ever. Every time you go it “o we can’t checkout because the system isn’t working” or “o we can’t see your insurance because the system isn’t working.”
Let me reiterate that the people working are always nice and helpful and it’s a great experience from that standpoint. But LensCrafters as a company and their operations are terrible. I’ll be finding a new provider for next year.
