My experience at the Pilates Club’s 1616 Walnut location in Philadelphia for the 10:00 AM class on 9/25 I was visiting from NYC and this was my first time purchasing a class with Pilates Club. Upon arrival, I provided my phone number and date of birth. I was asked for my address, and I explained that I preferred not to provide it since I had already provided my email address and phone number. I asked if it was possible to skip that portion of the registration. The receptionist, immediately responded, “Then you can go ahead and cancel the class,” in what I felt was an extremely rude and dismissive tone. I completely understand that your business may have policies requiring certain information, and I respect that there may be a reason for requesting an address. However, I do not believe that enforcing a policy should involve speaking to a customer in a disrespectful or condescending manner. As someone who was visiting from out of town and trying Pilates Club for the first time, this interaction was extremely disappointing. I have never experienced this type of customer service, and unfortunately, the way I was treated has made me question whether I would ever feel comfortable returning. There was absolutely no reason for me to be spoken to in that manner. I hope this feedback is taken seriously, because customers should be treated with courtesy and respect even when they are unable or unwilling to provide certain information. Thank you for taking the time to review my experience.

I was very excited to try out a class while visiting PA. I have a club Pilates near my house back in Florida but never had the time to try it so I thought this would be great. The day before my first free trial class, I was asked via phone call why I wanted to do the trial and explained my situation. The staff told me I wasn’t allowed to join because I live in FL and wouldn’t be joining that studio. I suppose that’s not really a free trial, in my opinion. I’m not sure if all club Pilates are this exclusive, just the overall experience felt cold and off putting. I don’t think I will check out other club Pilates if they have this general unwelcoming atmosphere. Good feedback for this studio would be to offer a special class or session specifically for people who are visiting from out of state as it is located by a few hotels and a wedding venue.

I recently visited this location with a friend after driving in from Delaware to Philadelphia. We went before, an outing. Unfortunately, we arrived about six minutes late due to a traffic accident along the way. While we understand the importance of policies and punctuality, situations like this can sometimes be unavoidable. When we arrived, we were informed that we could not join the session and were offered a later class at 3:00 PM. However, we were told we would need to pay again since we are not members. While the staff member was polite, the policy itself felt very rigid and didn’t account for real-life circumstances. Additionally, the downtown location makes parking quite challenging, which can further contribute to slight delays that are out of a customer’s control. I believe the overall experience could be greatly improved by offering a one-time courtesy option such as transferring to a later class without an additional fee in situations like unexpected traffic or emergencies. This small adjustment would go a long way in showing understanding and building customer loyalty. I hope the business considers adding a bit more flexibility to its policies to better accommodate real-life situations that customers may face.

I was kindly offered a free class and took it with Stefany J on the 21st of January and it was amazing how professional they were, but also made the 30 minute class fun, as well as challenging and being hands on with me when I did an incorrect position which I appreciate with an instructor. The facility is incredibly clean, as well as being intimate which I prefer, as well as having available cubbies to place your personal items in. I’m looking forward to being a member here!
