- SMShannon MoslakJul 18, 20251.0My son just had an appointment. The exam is supposed to be free, no copay. Get there and they say a $25.00 copay. They are trying to make people pay for the retinal scan that is supposed to be optional and try to say it is a copay. Optomap is a charge for this service. And look, they even discounted it!

Our optician at the optometrist’s office is closed until Tuesday, so I decided to try Pearle. Within 5 minutes the person helping us found a frame my son’s lenses fit in that he liked. In another 5 minutes we were walking out with new frames and spent way less money than I feared. I will absolutely be back if they take our vision insurance.
