Vaccinations

Routine vaccinations are one of the easiest ways to keep yourself healthy. Our pharmacies provide annual flu vaccines, COVID-19 vaccinations, routine child and adult immunizations, catch-up vaccines and travel vaccines.

This vaccine protects against chickenpox, a disease caused by the varicella zoster virus. Adults born in 1980 or later need two doses.

This vaccine protects against coronavirus. Depending on the manufacturer, up to two doses and a booster are currently recommended.

This vaccine protects against Hepatitis A, an infection in the liver often spread by contaminated food and caused by hepatitis A virus. Adults traveling outside the country, those with chronic liver disease, and men who have sex with men need at least two doses.

This vaccine protects against Hepatitis B, a blood-borne infection of the liver caused by hepatitis B virus. Adults with chronic health conditions and healthcare workers should get three doses of this vaccine.

This vaccine protects against HPV, the major cause of cervical cancer, anal cancer, and genital warts in both women and men. Adults age 9-26 need at least two doses.

This vaccine protects against influenza, a contagious viral infection of the nose, throat, and lungs. Everyone 6 months and older should receive a yearly flu vaccine.

This vaccine protects against the respiratory disease measles, the infectious disease mumps, and the viral disease rubella. Adults born in 1957 or later need at least one dose.

There are two types of meningococcal vaccines that protect against meningococcal disease, a leading cause of bacterial meningitis infections around the brain and spinal cord. All 11-12 year olds should get a meningococcal conjugate vaccine and a booster dose at 16 years old. People age 16-23 years also may get a serogroup B meningococcal vaccine.

These vaccines protect against pneumococcal disease, caused by bacteria leading to ear and sinus infections as well as more serious lung and blood infections. If you smoke, have heart disease, asthma, chronic lung disease, or are over 65 years old, you need at least one dose.

This vaccine protects against polio, a disease that can infect a person’s spinal cord and cause paralysis. Children are recommended to get one vaccine dose at 2 months old, 4 months old, 6 through 18 months old, and 4 through 6 years old.

This vaccine protects against shingles, a painful skin rash caused by the varicella zoster virus. Adults age 50 and older need two doses.

These vaccines protect against tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis which are contagious bacterial diseases. Adults need one dose of Tdap, then a Td or Tdap booster every 10 years.

Physical & Wellness Screenings

Our pharmacies offer a number of wellness screenings to help detect and prevent certain diseases.

When you come in for a biometric screening, your provider will measure your height, weight and blood pressure. They will also test your blood glucose, and lipids (cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL, LDL) using a finger prick to obtain a blood sample. Before leaving you will have your results along with risk reduction counseling to help you achieve your optimum health. **Biometric Screenings are available at select pharmacies only.

Blood glucose measurement detects the amount of glucose (sugar) in the bloodstream. High or low blood sugars could indicate a metabolic condition, such as diabetes.

Hemoglobin A1C measures your average blood glucose (sugar) over the past 90 days. An elevated hemoglobin A1C could indicate the presence of diabetes. **Hemoglobin A1C Screenings are available at select pharmacies only.

Cholesterol screening measures the amount of cholesterol, triglycerides, high density lipoprotein (HDL) and low density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol levels in the blood. Cholesterol screenings can detect conditions such as high cholesterol or high triglycerides.

Fredmeyer pharmacy in Canby, Oregon is the most incompetent and disorganized place that exists not only have they lost a fax from a vet to them, but then they lost the order 2 days later, when the vet actually called them in person. Then they are rude on the phone constantly putting you on hold, Even though you asked not to be on hold aftet already being on hold for fifteen minutes. Apparently a customer on the phone is not the same as a customer waiting in line and they are very rude. when you tell them, you've been on hold, then they literally said they can't talk to you. After being on hold for fifteen minutes or more I have been hung up on. This is no way for a business to be operated and Fred Meyer claims that the pharmacy is separate from the store. So who's supposed to be running that place? And who is the manager? When I asked the front desk, they did not know who the manager was over at the pharmacy. They are so disorganized, they can't even function.

My daughter was told by a man working on the automatic service at 6:30 10/10/22 that her prescription would be ready in 30 minutes. We came and was told by pharmacist that the prescription was on back order and hopefully in stock by 11/1....!!!!! Now my daughter with ADHD has to go cold turkey and it's not going well. We were then told to call the doctor. Why don't they call? On top of that they tell her to call other pharmacies! We only go here because in insurance network. Why don't they call, do their job! Horrible service and this isn't the first time. Don't go here! Am calling corporate, horrible management. They never did give an explanation of why we were told it would be ready. Three other customers got calls and guess what? Not ready,! Good grief

Said a prescription would be ready at 6:30 today. I go to pick it up and told it was sent to central fill and would be ready tomorrow. Now I'm just sitting here waiting for them to fill it tonight like they said they would. No apologies from the staff for their errors. This has become a common issue with this place and I am getting quite tired of it. They obviously don't value their customers here.

There is ALWAYS plenty of staff, no matter what time of day. I have left other pharmacies because they only have two staff or the pharmacist is on lunch. This has never happened at Fred Meyer. The staff are also happy, don't appear stressed out, and provide a positive atmosphere. I will pass other pharmacies now just to go to this one.
