Zero communication unless I initiated it.
The nursing staff was friendly, and they are the only reason this review isn't even harsher.
When I scheduled my procedure, no one would tell me the name of the physician who would be performing it. It took a second phone call before I finally got that information. After researching the physician's background, I discovered they completed their medical education overseas at a school that did not inspire confidence. Had I been given this information from the beginning, I would have scheduled with a different physician. By the time I learned who would be performing my procedure, it was too late to make other arrangements, so I reluctantly proceeded.
What happened afterward was even more frustrating. The physician spoke with my wife while I was still under the effects of anesthesia but never came back to discuss the procedure with me once I was awake. I was the patient—not my wife. Failing to communicate directly with the patient after a procedure is, unprofessional and disrespectful.
One final observation: I find it difficult to take repeated lectures about diet, exercise, and healthy living from healthcare providers who clearly do not practice the lifestyle they are prescribing. Credibility matters.
Overall, this experience demonstrated poor communication, a lack of transparency, and little regard for patient-centered care. If I could give this facility zero stars—or even negative stars—I would. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this institution and will never return.

I have needed Adams County Hospitals services many times over the past 30 years & always satisfied in all aspects. Only the past few years can l say without hesitation it got better. The reason is due to your employee who monitors the front desk, Aba Adamson. She is without a doubt the most helpful & delightful person you will meet, that treats her position as if she owned the place & was dedicated to you having complete care.
The latest helpful episode concerned an appointment for myself, a lot of notes to take, brought notebooks & pen but forgot my glasses. Upon entering the hospital, l asked Aba if you had a glasses exchange program, that l needed a pair of cheater glasses to take notes of doctor visit. Without hesitation she reached in her own purse, gave me a pair & ask if l could read with them. They worked & because it was close to lunchtime, l ask Aba if l should put them on her desk if she was gone. I have just come to front desk, Aba has gone to lunch & l saw this request on front desk to “let us know what you think”. Time to give credit when credit is due. Not often in life do you meet a General who stands in formation with their soldiers for the good & progress of the unit as a whole. If you are unaware, take notice, you have a General at the helm of your hospital in Aba Adamson.

I was a return visit do to kidney stones, dehydration, and elevated liver enzymes. I was treated like I was just there for more drugs. Was not given a call light, had to call my Mom in the wating room with my little boy to get it for me , while having another attack/ passed another stone. The nurse had to be reminded she needed to still get my med list. Then the whole time I only seen an attending. Dr. ? the black man sorry not sure of his name never once came in my room until right before discharge. Saying all my labs and urine was great when they were not. And just totally acted like he had no clue what was going on. Saying nothing was wrong with me and all labs were fine, when I had them pulled. Do better Acrmc dayshift. A little compassion goes a long way. Dr. Nate and his team are excellent!!
