Ophthalmology

At Ohio Vision, we want our patients to see the world as clearly as possible. To that end, we provide a wide range of eye care services, including eye exams, eye surgeries, and treatment for advanced eye diseases. Our ophthalmologists and optometrist work collaboratively to ensure that we provide the finest care available in Mercer, Shelby, Logan, and Miami Counties. Our staff is welcoming, compassionate, and committed to making your experience with us as positive and stress-free as possible. With offices in Sidney, Saint Marys, and Troy, we serve families from throughout West Central Ohio. If you would like to schedule an appointment at one of our locations, you can request a consultation online or reach us by phone.

Dry Eye Treatment

Dry eye syndrome is a condition in which you do not produce enough tears or produce tears of such poor quality that they cannot properly protect or moisten the eyes. When dry eye syndrome occurs, people experience a variety of dry eye issues. You do not have to allow dry eyes to inhibit your life. The eye doctors of Ohio Vision are here to evaluate and treat your condition, from the surface of the eye to deeper structural issues. We have locations in Sidney, Saint Marys, and Troy.

Cataract Surgery

At Ohio Vision, our board-certified eye doctors are committed to providing patients with effective care and lasting solutions for vision problems. If your cataracts are starting to affect your ability to perform everyday activities, it may be time to have them removed. Drs. John Wilding and Christopher Johnson can perform safe cataract surgery to restore your vision and your ability to read, drive, and see your loved ones.

Glaucoma Treatment

You may notice the symptoms of glaucoma only after permanent damage to your vision has occurred. Routine visits to see our board-certified eye doctors at Ohio Vision are the best way to prevent vision loss caused by glaucoma. With over a decade of experience, our eye doctors can detect the signs of this condition before you even realize you have it. They can then provide treatment to stop the progression and prevent vision loss. If you are due for an eye exam, or if you are showing any signs of glaucoma, contact our office today for an appointment. With offices in Sidney, Saint Marys, and Troy, we are conveniently located for patients throughout West Central Ohio. We also offer helpful financing options to qualifying patients.

Blepharoplasty

Even if you're excited to refresh your appearance with blepharoplasty, the thought of having surgery performed on your eyelids may make you feel a bit nervous. This is completely understandable, but know that you have nothing to fear when you work with our team in Sidney. You will receive general anesthesia for your surgical procedure to ensure your total comfort. When the effects of the anesthesia wear off, you'll have no memory of the procedure, and a friend or loved one can drive you home after a very short recovery period in our office.

Diabetic Retinopathy Treatment

Since the symptoms of diabetic retinopathy can often be gradual, annual eye exams are crucial for patients with diabetes. Catching this condition early can prevent further eye concerns, such as retinal detachment. Our optometrist, Dr. Schemmel, is board certified by the Ohio State Optometric Board, meaning he has shown mastery in the field and continues to stay up-to-date on developments. Patients throughout Ohio come to our Sidney, Saint Marys, and Troy offices for help managing and treating eye conditions.

Macular Degeneration

If you have any of the risk factors listed above, regular eye exams are crucial to spotting age-related macular degeneration and slowing the progression of the disease. Patients throughout Ohio come to our offices in Sidney, Saint Marys, and Troy to monitor their eye health. We're highly trusted by patients in Sidney and beyond because of our commitment to advanced care. Our eye doctors are highly regarded and have extensive training that they constantly refine through continuing education. Both our ophthalmologist, Christopher T. Johnson, and our optometrist, William E. Schemmel, are board-certified doctors committed to helping you maintain your best possible vision.
