The delivery person was professional, personable, and extremely easy to work with. She kept communication clear throughout the entire process and always answered my questions promptly and thoroughly. The chair arrived in perfect condition and was fully set up and ready to use, with only minor adjustments needed to fit my preferences. I could not have asked for a smoother delivery experience. 10/10

I got it today and he helped me by going over everything and making sure I was comfortable with using it completely before he left. This chair is definitely going to be a game changer in my life. Being a single mother of 4 with the youngest in kindergarten, this is going to make life so much easier. It’s almost like walking but better. I got to race my kids home from the bus stop today and it felt so good :) Thank you so much Kevin and NSM, you all just really helped me get my independence back and I can’t thank you enough :)

We work with your physician, nurses and therapists to provide a one-of-a-kind mobility solution customized to your needs and preferences. Because we work in a partnership with your health care team, we require a referral from them in order to be your mobility provider. To help ensure your choice of NSM, you should request that your physician and/or therapist select us as your provider of choice.
How long does it take to get a new power wheelchair from NSM?
NSM strives to complete each timeline phase as quickly as possible without compromising any step in the process. Please refer to this page for the full timeline. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
Why must I see a doctor to get a wheelchair from NSM?
Our clients have mobility challenges and are referred to us by therapists and physicians to receive mobility solutions that meets all their unique needs. If you need a wheelchair, your best plan is to talk with your physician or therapist and get a thorough evaluation from a qualified Rehab Technology Supplier (RTS).
What if my medical condition changes?
Contact your local NSM branch and notify us of any changes that may affect the proper fit and function of your chair.
Are there any dangers in using an off-the-shelf wheelchair?
Definitely. A standard or not customized chair can cause more harm than good. People come in all shapes and sizes; their chairs must be designed to fit them. In severe situations, a standard or not customized chair may:
- Cause significant physiological and psychological problems
- Lead to an increase in dependence because it’s not used due to lack of comfort
- Cause pressure sores, or decubitus, due to improper cushioning
- Become obsolete quickly if not configured to “grow with the child”
- Become a major expense to replace or reconfigure, because most funding sources will only reimburse for a new chair every five years.
Do I have a choice of which mobility solutions company to use?
