Vaccinations

Routine vaccinations are one of the easiest ways to keep yourself healthy. Our pharmacies provide annual flu vaccines, COVID-19 vaccinations, routine child and adult immunizations, catch-up vaccines and travel vaccines.

This vaccine protects against chickenpox, a disease caused by the varicella zoster virus. Adults born in 1980 or later need two doses.

This vaccine protects against coronavirus. Depending on the manufacturer, up to two doses and a booster are currently recommended.

This vaccine protects against Hepatitis A, an infection in the liver often spread by contaminated food and caused by hepatitis A virus. Adults traveling outside the country, those with chronic liver disease, and men who have sex with men need at least two doses.

This vaccine protects against Hepatitis B, a blood-borne infection of the liver caused by hepatitis B virus. Adults with chronic health conditions and healthcare workers should get three doses of this vaccine.

This vaccine protects against HPV, the major cause of cervical cancer, anal cancer, and genital warts in both women and men. Adults age 9-26 need at least two doses.

This vaccine protects against influenza, a contagious viral infection of the nose, throat, and lungs. Everyone 6 months and older should receive a yearly flu vaccine.

This vaccine protects against the respiratory disease measles, the infectious disease mumps, and the viral disease rubella. Adults born in 1957 or later need at least one dose.

There are two types of meningococcal vaccines that protect against meningococcal disease, a leading cause of bacterial meningitis infections around the brain and spinal cord. All 11-12 year olds should get a meningococcal conjugate vaccine and a booster dose at 16 years old. People age 16-23 years also may get a serogroup B meningococcal vaccine.

These vaccines protect against pneumococcal disease, caused by bacteria leading to ear and sinus infections as well as more serious lung and blood infections. If you smoke, have heart disease, asthma, chronic lung disease, or are over 65 years old, you need at least one dose.

This vaccine protects against polio, a disease that can infect a person’s spinal cord and cause paralysis. Children are recommended to get one vaccine dose at 2 months old, 4 months old, 6 through 18 months old, and 4 through 6 years old.

This vaccine protects against shingles, a painful skin rash caused by the varicella zoster virus. Adults age 50 and older need two doses.

These vaccines protect against tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis which are contagious bacterial diseases. Adults need one dose of Tdap, then a Td or Tdap booster every 10 years.

Physical & Wellness Screenings

Our pharmacies offer a number of wellness screenings to help detect and prevent certain diseases.

When you come in for a biometric screening, your provider will measure your height, weight and blood pressure. They will also test your blood glucose, and lipids (cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL, LDL) using a finger prick to obtain a blood sample. Before leaving you will have your results along with risk reduction counseling to help you achieve your optimum health. **Biometric Screenings are available at select pharmacies only.

Blood glucose measurement detects the amount of glucose (sugar) in the bloodstream. High or low blood sugars could indicate a metabolic condition, such as diabetes.

Hemoglobin A1C measures your average blood glucose (sugar) over the past 90 days. An elevated hemoglobin A1C could indicate the presence of diabetes. **Hemoglobin A1C Screenings are available at select pharmacies only.

Cholesterol screening measures the amount of cholesterol, triglycerides, high density lipoprotein (HDL) and low density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol levels in the blood. Cholesterol screenings can detect conditions such as high cholesterol or high triglycerides.

Long story put short, the staff in this pharmacy need some lessons in clear communication. Patient care? Well from my experience, they lack care, empathy, and clear communication with customers. First you’re going to tell my family a prescription is on back order and then you’re going to falsely inform me that it’s been discontinued when all research I’ve done says otherwise? Not to mention, it’s pretty sad when you charge a patient the same price for LESS of the generic product than you do for a higher count of the real thing. Having a prescription on back order is one thing… Treating customers poorly who are seeking help to find what they need to ensure they don’t have a life threatening medical episode? That’s something else entirely. If you’re going to treat customer so poorly, maybe you shouldn’t be working in customer service at all…

I’m new to Lancaster and have only been to this pharmacy once before this time around. I spent the day in the emergency room in immense pain and being treated and seen, I left around 5:35 with prescriptions in hand to take to Kroger. I immediately went there because the pharmacy closes at 6. Again I’m in serious pain and really need this prescription. I get to the counter to be greeted by Kaitlyn who was very sweet and helpful, however the pharmacist in the back a lady that puts pills in bottles and creams in bags, was rude and kept reiterating that they close at 6…..OKAY? I have 20 minutes still and just left the hospital. Not to mention this is an important job that affects many peoples lives and well being. To be so caught up and self involved with one self to be disrespectful to people who NEED there prescription. Is absolutely disgusting and shameful. Find a new career lady in the back with blondeish hair and glasses. You’re the worst type of person.

After 5 years of patience with this pharmacy I have made the decision to move my prescription needs to Walgreens. To the best of my recollection I have never been able to pick up a prescription at the time they said it would be ready. I always call the day before they are to fill a prescription I have on file to remind them to fill it for the next day and agree on a time. This of course is a call and agreement that proves pointless each and every time because the prescription is never ready at the agreed time. Then to add insult to your efforts to be efficient many times they will not have a medication in stock or not enough quantity and even though you gave a reminder call the day before no one at the pharmacy took the time to actually see if the prescription could be filled. The customer service that follows is rude and they try and make you feel that I you have no reason to be upset. I have taken prescriptions to drop off and wait for them to fill but the wait time has never been under 2 hours. The staff is only as good as it's leadership and when they are instructed to give erroneous information to the customers you can't blame them. They are often confused about your prescription and what info the customer has been given previously by other staff. So far Walgreens has never made me wait more than 20 minutes for a walk in prescription. They have notified at the time of drop off if the prescription was in inventory. Their communication is accurate and proactive unlike reactive at Kroger. I believe in the review network and I have made very few negative reviews and never on a first experience. Sadly, Kroger has earned this review on their on merit.
