My experience at Woodhaven was quite rocky, at first, to say the least. The amount of times I was ready to ASA and get outta dodge was insane, but there was one specific constant in my 3 months at Woodhaven. A reminder whenever I doubted myself, and a reason to stay when I didnt value myself as a reason. Destiny, the RA. She never made me feel any less than human for being there, she was always there when I needed a shoulder to lean on, when I needed to talk. Or when I needed to be convinced that leaving was a mistake. I am just under two weeks away from 7 months sober, and I truly have Destiny to thank for believing in my every step of the way. She deserves everything this world has to give.

Had a family member recently come and Amber has played a huge role in his experience and road to recovery . This place is lucky to have her working so hard to make an impact and help turn people’s lives around . If only they all cared this much.

I am extremely disappointed with our family’s experience. Our family member was court-ordered to attend treatment, yet after being assigned a new counselor, she was apparently allowed to sign herself out, transferred to another treatment facility in Lima without our knowledge or the court that ordered her to Woodhaven, and ultimately disappeared. Throughout this process, communication was inconsistent and concerning. We were initially given an account of events that later changed, including an admission that our family member had been allowed to use the phone for unmonitored calls despite the circumstances of her placement. We were also told there was no camera footage available to verify what occurred. I understand that individuals are ultimately responsible for their own decisions, and I recognize that our family member bears responsibility for her choices. However, that does not excuse the breakdown in communication and supervision that occurred here. We were never informed of the transfer, and to our knowledge, the court was not notified either. While I understand that staff turnover and new counselors can create challenges, “being new” is not an acceptable explanation when dealing with vulnerable individuals in a court-ordered treatment program. Families place enormous trust in facilities like this, and in our experience, that trust was broken. I sincerely hope Woodhaven reviews its policies regarding communication, documentation, supervision, and coordination with courts and families so that another family does not experience what ours has.

works if YOU do! Great staff, people who care, though not perfect much like EVERYTHING in life the tools and resources are there if the person that shows up is willing to put in the work. We aren’t perfect people none of us not the person reading this needing help, nor the person reading this trying to help someone else, nor do we need the perfect place to recover, nor will our recovery be perfect. What we must do is apply ourselves, when we do we start to realize how amazing we are as individuals, both us and everyone around us and that “perfect” is in the eye of the beholder. So I’d challenge you to find your “perfect”. Seek mercy, grace and wisdom first and the rest will follow. Thanks Katie C, Kim D, Jemma, Jamie, everyone in medical and all of you that had a hand in check-in, urinalysis, and screening as well as Mike!!! May God bless you ALL!!!
