  I just wanted to say thank you to Penny and Michelle at Target Optical in Miamisburg, Ohio. They were exceedingly helpful to me when I was in a bit of a pinch. I went in with low expectations because anywhere you go these days, customer service seems to be no longer a priority. They didn’t owe many anything, yet they were eager to help and they completely solved my issue in five minutes. Thank you!

  VERY impressive, Target Optical! Of the six establishments I have visited in the past ten years (including two “high end” places), Target Optical is the only one that stood out. The doctor took time to explain things to me about my vision that no other doctor has mentioned. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and sharply intelligent. Who knew a routine eye exam/contact lens fitting could feel like a collaborative experience? I felt welcome and cared for by every employee I encountered. My weird insurance was processed immediately and accurately. The whole process felt more “independent boutique” than corporate (side-eyeing you, Wal-Mart). The only negative I could possibly conjure up is the relatively small frame selection. However, they have tons of frames available on their website, which is very straightforward and easy to use and offers virtual fittings. I don’t always write reviews, but couldn’t wait to thank this awesome team at the Miamisburg/Dayton location by the mall!

  I didn’t have an issue with the doctor and thought she was great. It’s the optical Service I received after has been terrible. Communication is also terrible. My first set of contacts were sent to my ex-husband’s house where I have not lived for seven years. I’ve had to call constantly about updates of both my glasses and contacts. It wasn’t until two weeks after the order that I found out they were sent to the incorrect address. They at least overnighted the context to my correct address. Then I receive a call that my contacts are in the office. So they communication between each other is lacking. I’ve waited almost 3 weeks for my glasses to come in. They say they are checking on it only because I called. What’s worse is the original prescription had to be tweaked so these glasses will be in the wrong prescription and will have to be sent back. But instead of ordering a new set with the correct prescription I have to wait for the old prescription that’s not correct to come in before they will get returned and then processed with the correct prescription. At that pace, I probably won’t get them for another 5 weeks the earliest. I went ahead and just canceled the entire order and I will take my prescription and Have glasses made somewhere else. Never a sincere apology has ever been given. Be prepared to have to do all your own calling to find out the status and correct all these errors. Never once did they initiate communication. And when they did, they did not have their facts straight, and I had to inform them of what was going on. I only came to target for optical because I have a discount. Last year I went to Walmart and that was a five star.
