Vaccinations

Routine vaccinations are one of the easiest ways to keep yourself healthy. Our pharmacies provide annual flu vaccines, COVID-19 vaccinations, routine child and adult immunizations, catch-up vaccines and travel vaccines.

This vaccine protects against chickenpox, a disease caused by the varicella zoster virus. Adults born in 1980 or later need two doses.

This vaccine protects against coronavirus. Depending on the manufacturer, up to two doses and a booster are currently recommended.

This vaccine protects against Hepatitis A, an infection in the liver often spread by contaminated food and caused by hepatitis A virus. Adults traveling outside the country, those with chronic liver disease, and men who have sex with men need at least two doses.

This vaccine protects against Hepatitis B, a blood-borne infection of the liver caused by hepatitis B virus. Adults with chronic health conditions and healthcare workers should get three doses of this vaccine.

This vaccine protects against HPV, the major cause of cervical cancer, anal cancer, and genital warts in both women and men. Adults age 9-26 need at least two doses.

This vaccine protects against influenza, a contagious viral infection of the nose, throat, and lungs. Everyone 6 months and older should receive a yearly flu vaccine.

This vaccine protects against the respiratory disease measles, the infectious disease mumps, and the viral disease rubella. Adults born in 1957 or later need at least one dose.

There are two types of meningococcal vaccines that protect against meningococcal disease, a leading cause of bacterial meningitis infections around the brain and spinal cord. All 11-12 year olds should get a meningococcal conjugate vaccine and a booster dose at 16 years old. People age 16-23 years also may get a serogroup B meningococcal vaccine.

These vaccines protect against pneumococcal disease, caused by bacteria leading to ear and sinus infections as well as more serious lung and blood infections. If you smoke, have heart disease, asthma, chronic lung disease, or are over 65 years old, you need at least one dose.

This vaccine protects against polio, a disease that can infect a person’s spinal cord and cause paralysis. Children are recommended to get one vaccine dose at 2 months old, 4 months old, 6 through 18 months old, and 4 through 6 years old.

This vaccine protects against shingles, a painful skin rash caused by the varicella zoster virus. Adults age 50 and older need two doses.

These vaccines protect against tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis which are contagious bacterial diseases. Adults need one dose of Tdap, then a Td or Tdap booster every 10 years.

Physical & Wellness Screenings

Our pharmacies offer a number of wellness screenings to help detect and prevent certain diseases.

When you come in for a biometric screening, your provider will measure your height, weight and blood pressure. They will also test your blood glucose, and lipids (cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL, LDL) using a finger prick to obtain a blood sample. Before leaving you will have your results along with risk reduction counseling to help you achieve your optimum health. **Biometric Screenings are available at select pharmacies only.

Blood glucose measurement detects the amount of glucose (sugar) in the bloodstream. High or low blood sugars could indicate a metabolic condition, such as diabetes.

Hemoglobin A1C measures your average blood glucose (sugar) over the past 90 days. An elevated hemoglobin A1C could indicate the presence of diabetes. **Hemoglobin A1C Screenings are available at select pharmacies only.

Cholesterol screening measures the amount of cholesterol, triglycerides, high density lipoprotein (HDL) and low density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol levels in the blood. Cholesterol screenings can detect conditions such as high cholesterol or high triglycerides.

Have been using Eastgate Kroger pharmacy for about 5 years now. It’s been a convenient and friendly place. The employees have always helped me find the best price through various discounts to help reduce my costs. You have to ask though. The text message reminders and refills make managing prescriptions easy to manage. They close for lunch daily just something to be aware of for those picking up during lunch hours.

Very unfortunate with my own work and busy schedule that the pharmacy closes for a group lunch break and doesn't alternate. I have limited time to get errands done and this is very inconvenient for grabbing meds.

They try but are understaffed and do not answer the phone and always a long line and a trip just to find out if they got around to your refill. Major hassle dealing with this pharmacy.

kaylyn the pharmacy tech was rude the minute I called. I have a script that i refill monthly that is free due to the manufacturer of the product giving me a savings card. Have had this script filled for years. Got text yesterday my script was ready but showed me owing $35. I called this morning explained to Kaylyn that it is free with savings card that is in the system. She immediately got rude and said we tried it, it doesn't work and you need to call the company about it. Which I did and a very nice rep told me my savings card was totally active and that kroger needed to call their help line because the issue was kroger and not my card. So I called back and got kaylyn again and told her very nicely what the company said and she huffed and puffed and said hold on. She came back and said give me the help desk number they gave you which I did. She said when I get time I will call. I waited over an hour to call back to make sure it was all clear now and another person answered didn't identify themselves but I told them what was going on, they said kaylyn was on the phone but she asked her , Kaylyn said she was on hold for over 20 minutes and hung up and if I wanted to call I could but they were too busy and didn't have time. I am totally appalled at kaylyn attitude and lack of customer service. Very disappointing when I have been getting this script for at least 5 years or so. Kaylyn needs to learn some phone skills and customer service skills if she is going to work in this type of atmosphere. she doesn't even deserve one star!! So I called my now regular pharmacy Walgreens and they were able to transfer the script and savings card and went thru the first time!! Bye bye kroger pharmacy thanks to kaylyn!!!
