I had my previous hearing aids from Cincinnati Hearing and was very satisfied. It came time to re-evaluate my hearing and as a result determined new technology in new aides might be helpful. I received them in good time. They weren't quite right for use with my phone, but a quick trip to the office corrected that. After a little while I determined another change was needed. Another quick trip solved that problem as well. Hearing aides are not an automatic fix but need some adjustment and Cincinnati Hearing was very helpful in making all those adjustments. I have been very pleased with the Center's work.

Several years ago I lost my hearing in one ear and unfortunately the ENT couldn't do anything to bring it back. I went to Cincinnati Hearing because of recommendations from others who had gone there. The initial conference about bicros hearing aids was informative and thorough, and the Phonak hearing aids have been excellent. I have returned periodically to have adjustments and/or cleaning, usually every six months, and all of the audiologists and staff members have been great. I would definitely recommend Cincinnati Hearing Center to anyone considering hearing aids.

After many, many years of hesitation and living with the inability to hear clearly / understand the world around me, I bit the bullet and set up an appointment with an audiologist at the Cheviot location. (Prior to this, I tried some 'off the shelf, no Doctor needed, devices....none worked and I was lucky to get my $ back.) I first met with Dr. Liz Kroger and subsequently with Dr. Amy Donnellon and always greeted by their smiling office manager - Juliann Quinn. Well, Dr. Liz ran me through a battery of audio tests and discussed my status and possible solutions, including $....all easy to understand and follow. As I had just discovered, I had a huge discount plan through my Medicare supplemental coverage (United Healthcare), which cut the cost dramatically.
I opted with a Phonak Audeo Infinio model, which is a behind the ear, with a clear line into my inner ear. I chose a color that was close to my silver hair color. As I wear my hair short, I was a little concerned about how noticeable they would be, but once I started wearing them, my vanity was not an issue....no one even knew I had them, unless they looked very close.
It has been almost 2 months now and I am absolutely amazed at how my world has changed! I no longer ask people to repeat themselves and I feel part of everyday, normal conversations. My brain is still being 'trained' to work with my new hearing aids and when I really notice it, is the few times I do not wear them out and I feel as if my brain is confused and wondering why I am tricking it without the aids helping it. They really DO make a huge difference.
My years of hesitation stem from ignorance and frankly, the assumed costs, including replacing batteries often. The Phonak uses a portable, USB charging box, where I place my 2 aids in every night. The simplicity of using the system is intuitive and refreshing. The staff mentioned above are all top notch, professional and extremely helpful. I wonder why it took me so long, but am glad that I finally made the jump to rejoin the world. Thank you!
