Cosmetic Dentistry

Cosmetic Dentistry is becoming more popular than ever and we are equipped with the right tools and techniques to help you achieve that smile you’ve always wanted. At Complete Health Dentistry, we want you to feel confident and proud of your smile. We are able to provide you with a variety of cosmetic solutions to help improve your natural aesthetics and oral health.

BRIDGES

Dental bridges are custom-made applications to replace one or more missing teeth, restore the natural contour of teeth as well as produce a proper bite between your upper and lower teeth. It’s important to replace missing teeth to avoid shifting of surrounding teeth. A dental bridge consists of one or more fabricated teeth and the unit is secured with crowns to surrounding (abutment teeth). Dental bridges are custom-made to match your natural teeth for beautiful results. They are generally made of porcelain, gold alloys, or a combination of materials. There are a variety of fixed bridges such as conventional fixed bridges, cantilever bridges and resin-bonded bridges. Other types of bridges include removable bridges and implant bridges.

CROWNS

A crown is a dental restoration used to cover and protect a tooth. It strengthens the structure of the tooth usually following a restorative procedure, such as a root canal. A crown can also strengthen a cracked, chipped or weakened tooth. Crowns are generally made of porcelain or a combination of materials and are made to match the color of your natural teeth for beautiful, natural results.

TEETH WHITENING

Teeth whitening is a great option for you if you have stained, dull or discolored teeth. Teeth whitening can be used to help reverse effects of aging or tobacco stains and can instantly provide a brighter smile. There are many teeth whitening options available such as whitening toothpaste, rinses, whitening strips or gels. However, these products will not provide you with the instant, dramatic effects of professional whitening services. At Complete Health Dentistry, we provide several teeth whitening options. We provide effective and safe teeth whitening that can last years.

VENEERS

Dental veneers can restore the color, shape, size and length of your tooth. Veneers are considered a permanent restorative solution and when cared for properly can last many years. They are often made of porcelain and custom- shaped to cover the front surface of each tooth to drastically improve the overall appearance of your smile. Dr. Henize is experienced in providing beautifully crafted, natural looking dental veneers.

General Dentistry

Our office provides a variety of dental services to help improve yours and your family’s oral health. With general dentistry, we serve as your primary dental care provider. Our general dentists can diagnose, recommend treatment solutions and provide the necessary treatment to help you meet your oral needs and goals

FILLINGS

At our office, we provide tooth restoration services such as fillings. We use fillings to help prevent the spread of further tooth decay and to help restore tooth structure which has been lost. They are made of tooth colored composite and when cared for properly can last for many years.

GUM DISEASE

Gum disease occurs over time when bacteria, or plaque, build up between your teeth and gums. If the plaque is not removed during brushing or flossing, the particle can harden and turn in to tartar. Over time, plaque and tartar become more difficult to remove at home. Generally, a professional cleaning is required for maintaining your oral health and preventing tooth decay and periodontal (gum) disease from progressing. With regular brushing and flossing of your teeth, you can prevent gum disease from occurring. Gingivitis: If plaque and tartar is not removed, a mild form of gum disease called Gingivitis will progress, causing an inflammation of gum tissue. Your dentist would be able to properly treat gingivitis and once treated, you can help restore your oral health with daily brushing and flossing. Periodontal Disease: Periodontal disease is an inflammation that affects and damages the gums and tooth, and if left untreated can cause the tooth to loosen or fall out. Once you have Periodontal Disease, it is not reversible, however it can be maintained with a variety of gum treatment solutions. Some of the solutions we offer to control periodontal disease include: Scaling & Root Planing (deep cleaning) Arestin antibiotic placement Chlorhexidine irrigation Periodontal surgery and laser gum surgery Dental implants At our office, we believe in treating the “whole” patient. It is important for us to help you achieve optimum oral health so that you can enjoy optimum overall health. If you suspect you have periodontal disease, be sure to not ignore it. Periodontal disease has been linked to several health conditions such as heart disease, stroke and diabetes. Our dentists and hygienists are trained in diagnosing and treating gum disease and can help you achieve a healthy and beautiful smile.

ROOT CANALS

Root canal therapy is used for restoring a tooth that has experienced deep decay or trauma. Root canal therapy can save a tooth that otherwise would require extraction. During a root canal, the exposed or infected pulp is removed and disinfected. Once the tooth is treated and you had extensive decay, our dentist may decide to cover your tooth with a crown for protection and strength. If left untreated, the infection can attack the root of the tooth causing pain, sensitivity, or even lead to tooth loss. Please contact our office if you experience any pain or discomfort. We will be sure to relieve your pain and restore your smile. We strive to be the dental care provider that you and your family can call “home”. Be sure to contact our office if you have any questions or wish to set up an appointment.

Emergencies

Accidents happen all the time and it is important to take care of the issue immediately. We are always here to assist you and your loved ones so please call us immediately if an accident does occur. If an accident occurs after our business hours, please be sure to call our emergency number. Below, you will find tips for how to deal with common dental situations to help relieve any pain or discomfort during a dental emergency.

BITTEN LIP OR TONGUE

If you accidentally bite your lip or tongue, it can cause sharp pain and discomfort. If this happens, be sure to clean the affected area and apply a cold compress to help reduce swelling. Please give us a call so we can help you determine the seriousness of the bite.

OBJECT CAUGHT ON TOOTH

In some cases, patient will encounter objects stuck between their teeth which can cause discomfort. To help relieve the discomfort, gently remove the object by using dental floss. If the object cannot be removed, be sure to contact our office so that we can help remove the object for you.

BROKEN TOOTH OR TOOTH LOSS

If you break a tooth or if it gets knocked out during an accident, be sure to contact us immediately. If you can retrieve the lost tooth, be sure to hold it by the crown (not the root) and rinse it off thoroughly with warm water without scrubbing. Then if you are able, try and place the tooth back in its socket or in a container of milk and bring it with you to our office. We will then be able to determine how to restore or salvage the tooth. If acted quickly upon, we can salvage a permanent tooth.

TOOTHACHE

If you experience a tooth ache, be sure to floss and rinse the mouth thoroughly with warm water and see if the pain goes away. Apply a warm washcloth on the outside of your cheek if you notice any swelling. If you do notice that your mouth or gums around the tooth is swollen, or if you notice a fever, then you may have an infected tooth that needs immediate attention. Be sure to see us immediately if any of these symptoms occur.

BROKEN JAW

If you suspect that you have a broken jaw, be sure to contact our emergency number or go to a hospital immediately. Broken jaws can be very painful so treating this issue immediately is very important. As you make your way to our office or the hospital, use a cold compress to reduce the swelling. Generally, a broken jaw is a result of a blow to the head so it is important to seek help immediately so that your doctor can assess the jaw and the head as a blow to the head can be life-threatening and dangerous.

DENTAL IMPLANTS

Dental implants are often a permanent solution for replacing a missing tooth or teeth. Dental implants are synthetic structures that act as a root and tooth. They are permanently placed and are covered with a dental crown. Dental implants are the next best thing to your natural teeth. They provide a strong, solid structure and feel and look very natural. They allow for natural speaking and eating and can last a lifetime. Dr. Henize is very skilled in providing dental implant advice and would be able to help you in determining if dental implants are right for you. For more information on dental implants or if you wish to see Dr. Henize for a consultation, please be sure to give us a call today!

COMPLETE DENTURES

A complete denture will replace the teeth within an arch – some patients need either a lower or upper denture, and some patients require both. Complete dentures rest securely on the gum and bone tissue, and many patients are surprised by how real their dentures look!

PARTIAL DENTURES

Partial dentures are a great solution if you are missing some of your teeth because the denture will fill in the gaps in your smile. They can also support cheeks and lips so the face does not sag, and help make it easier to chew food.

EXTRACTIONS

Your dentist will do everything they can to save or repair your natural tooth. However, in some cases, a tooth extraction is necessary to prevent the spread of decay or infection. Dr. Henize and his team will make sure that you are comfortable and relaxed throughout the entire procedure. We will discuss sedation options and after-care to promote healthy healing and to prevent complications. If you are in need of an extraction, give us a call today for more information!

INVISALIGN

Invisalign® invisible aligners help straighten your teeth in a discrete and comfortable way. They can be removed while eating, brushing or flossing and are a great alternative to braces. Invisalign® has been proven effective in clinical research and orthodontic practices and can be an ideal solution for improving the appearance of your smile.

NITROUS SEDATION

Nitrous sedation, commonly known as laughing gas, is given using a face mask that releases nitrous oxide mixed with oxygen. Once you put on the face mask, you will begin to feel relaxed and at ease. You will not be completely asleep; however, it may make some patients feel drowsy. You will be able to respond to the dentist if needed. The sedation will last throughout your appointment, until the mask is removed. Once the mask is removed, the effects of the sedation will wear off within just a few minutes.
