I scheduled the appointment, but the office called just hours before to reschedule. Due to this inconvenience, I sought care from another surgeon at a different office. Since then, I have repeatedly requested a referral from Dr. Benedit to support this outside consultation. However, she has refused each time, stating that she does not provide external referrals and only refers patients to the in-house surgeon. This situation is very concerning, as it limits my ability to seek timely and appropriate medical care. I believe patients should have the right to pursue care outside of a single provider network, especially when scheduling issues arise. Denying a referral under these circumstances feels inappropriate and unethical.
