He was thorough, knowledgeable, and made the whole experience easy — which is exactly why I recommended him to my wife. Unfortunately, her experience was a different story. First, if the office knows a PD (pupillary distance) measurement is required to order glasses, why isn't it automatically included on the prescription? That should be standard practice. Second, when she came back a week later just to get her PD measurement, she was told rudely by the front desk staff that they couldn't accommodate her and that the doctor wouldn't see her. There was no effort to help or offer an alternative — just a dismissive response. Dr. Cheung's clinical work is excellent, and that's not in question. But if this practice wants to earn 5-star reviews consistently, the front office staff need real training in basic customer service and manners. A great doctor can only carry a practice so far when the support staff undermines the experience.
