This place has done a phenomenal job at the customer service ever since I started here 2 years ago. They greet you every-time you come in and every-time you leave. It’s been such a low cost monthly for the experience I receive everytime I come here to work out. Julia especially has been very accommodating to changing my schedule needs! Love club Pilates LIC. It’s clean and they provide necessities hair ties and deodorant.

Can’t recommend this Pilates studio enough it’s hands down one of the best spots I’ve ever been to. The classes are phenomenal, super challenging but in the best way possible. I’ve noticed real improvements in my posture and core strength since I started going regularly. The membership pricing is incredibly affordable too, which is a huge plus. No hidden fees either something that bothered me at other studios. The team here is awesome they’re so welcoming, encouraging, and genuinely passionate about what they do. Whether you’re new to this or have been before they make everyone feel supported and motivated.

Mistakes happen. What matters is how a business responds to them. Club Pilates response was to deny responsibility, dismiss verbal conversations with their own staff and place the entire burden on the customer. I had been trying to cancel my membership since March and was repeatedly reassured by staff that everything was taken care of. After discussing my remaining credits with multiple employees and agreeing to a plan that would allow me to use them before leaving, I believed my membership was ending. Instead, I continued to be charged. Only after being billed again in May for the month of June, was I informed that a separate cancellation form was required. No one had previously mentioned this form or provided it to me, despite multiple conversations in person and on the phone about ending my membership. What was most disappointing was how I was treated when I tried to resolve the issue. I had numerous conversations that confirmed my cancelation. But because most of my conversations with staff had occurred in person, I did not have extensive written documentation. Rather than acknowledging that verbal conversations with their employees had shaped my understanding of the cancellation process, management seemed to dismiss those conversations entirely and repeatedly focused on what I could not prove in writing. At no point did anyone acknowledge that there may have been a communication failure on their end or show any willingness to work toward a reasonable solution. Instead of feeling like a valued customer who had been paying for nearly a year, I felt like I was being treated as though I had done something wrong simply for relying on information provided by their staff. The tone of the conversations was defensive, dismissive, and lacking in empathy. Finally after multiple grueling conversations they finally cancelled my membership. But refused the refund with a "no". When I mentioned disputing the charge with my credit card company, I was warned that my account could become past due and incur late fees. This has now taken up so much of my time and money. I am so upset with how I was treated. As for the studio itself, I found the classes average at best. I come from a dance and aerial arts background and found much of the programming repetitive and fairly rudimentary. There was significant instructor turnover during my membership, class offerings were inconsistent, and waitlists were often unreasonable for the level of service being provided. I’ve belonged to many gyms and studios with strict policies and have never had an issue following them. I understand that businesses need procedures. What I do not understand is a business refusing to take any responsibility when its own employees provide incomplete information and then placing the entire burden on the customer. I cannot recommend Club Pilates based on either the quality of the experience or the way they handle membership cancellations.

I am writing this review to warn the NYC fitness community about the toxic customer service, arbitrary rules, and shocking management behavior at Club Pilates LIC. I am not a fitness beginner. I am a deeply established boutique fitness consumer in NYC. Over the years, I have been a paying member at Equinox, Solidcore, New York Pilates, Physique 57, Core Pilates, Power Pilates, and The Bar Method. I know exactly how premium, professional fitness communities operate, and I have never seen a business treat a loyal customer with such hostility. For the entire history of this studio, the 5-minute lateness policy was never strictly enforced. However, overnight and with zero material notice or warning to members, the studio decided to weaponize this dormant policy. I arrived inside the studio within the 5-minute window, literally 15 seconds behind another member. That member was let in, but the front desk attendant, who was incredibly dry and dismissive, shut the door on me based on a 15-second differential. Navigating a busy NYC schedule requires tight logistical coordination. When I emailed studio management to professionally address this sudden pivot in enforcement, I explicitly stated that my trust was shaken and requested the procedure to cancel my top-tier, unlimited monthly membership. Instead of addressing the lack of communication or the front desk's erratic enforcement, the studio's management representative, Alex, sent an incredibly condescending email lecturing me on "lessons" and "accountability." Then, rather than processing the membership cancellation I had just explicitly requested, Alex retaliated by stating they were terminating my membership effective immediately. It was a petty power move to avoid answering for their own operational failures. Alex even claimed to have personally weaponized the studio's security cameras to review the exact seconds of my arrival just to double down on locking me out. This studio historically tolerated a highly unprofessional instructor who cursed and played on her phone during classes for months, yet they expect paying members to operate with flawless, micro-second perfection. Long Island City is a rapidly growing neighborhood where businesses constantly come and go, and residents choose to live here because of the quick proximity to Manhattan. LIC locals have infinite premium fitness options right by their offices in the city and do not need to tolerate this. A neighborhood studio should aim to cultivate community, not spy on members with cameras, apply rules erratically, and play petty power games with cancellations. Avoid Club Pilates LIC.
