The Retina Group of New York consists of Board Certified Ophthalmologists who are Fellows of the American Society of Retinal Specialists. They have additional subspecialty training and years of experience in retina conditions including diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, retinal tears, retinal detachment, uveitis, low vision, surgical complications and second opinions.
Dr. Maisel, founder of the group, completed the Dyson Fellowship in Vitreous and Retinal surgery at New York Presbyterian Hospital-Cornell Medical Center. He has received a Special Congressional Award for his work in diabetic retinopathy and the Banko Gift of Gift of Sight Award. He also was named the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Humanitarian of the year.
