An upper arm lift, or brachioplasty, reshapes the upper arm to tighten loose skin and remove fat that often creates a “bat wing” appearance under the arm. Removing the excess skin caused by weight loss or natural aging can tighten loose skin that extends from the underarm area to the elbow. After brachioplasty, the arms will appear more trim, firm and smooth. It is not uncommon for women to have excess fat in the upper arm that is difficult to get rid of, even with exercise. Furthermore, as one ages, the upper arm skin can become loose and flabby. The upper arm can be treated with liposuction if the primary problem is excess fat or with a combination of liposuction and removal of excess arm skin if the skin is loose. The incision for removal and tightening of the skin can be hidden in the armpit if there is only a moderate amount of excess arm skin. If there is a significant amount of excess arm skin to remove, the incision is placed along the inner aspect of the arm to minimize the visibility. The scar will mostly fade to some extent over 6 to 12 months. Every year, thousands of people undergo successful upper-arm-lift surgery and are pleased with the results. With the skills of an experienced board certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Sasson can help you achieve these goals. Our staff at Sasson Plastic Surgery would be happy to arrange for your consultation.

Dramatic weight loss, whether achieved by proper nutrition and exercise, as the result of bariatric surgery, or from other forms of medical treatment, has many benefits. However, once you reach your weight loss goals, you may find that you still don’t have the fit and healthy body image you desire. Skin may be loose, sagging and in many cases, your body contours may appear irregular and disharmonious. If you have undergone dramatic weight loss that has resulted in excess sagging skin, surgical body contouring may be right for you. In general, body contouring following major weight loss reduces excess fat and skin that has developed in multiple body areas. The result of surgery is a smoother, more attractive body contour. Body contouring after major weight loss is an important and rewarding phase of your challenge to have a healthier, more proportionate body, and can help you further enhance your body image and self-confidence. Your Results and Outlook The results of a body contouring following major weight loss are visible almost immediately; however, it may take as long as one to two years or more for the final results of all the recommended procedures to be fully appreciated. Visible scars are something you must accept in your goals to achieving a body contour that matches your new body weight and proportion. The results are long lasting, provided that you maintain a stable weight and general fitness. As your body ages, it is natural to lose some firmness, but most of your initial improvement should be relatively permanent. Body Lift A well-toned body with smooth contours often is a sign of fitness achieved by healthy diet and exercise. But exercise cannot always achieve results for individuals who have loose, sagging skin and uneven contours. Aging, sun damage, pregnancy and fluctuations in body weight as well as genetic factors contribute to poor tissue elasticity and may result in sagging of the abdomen, buttocks, thighs, and upper arms. If you desire a firmer, more youthful looking body contour, then a surgical body lift may help achieve your goals. In general, a body lift reduces excess fat and skin resulting in smoother skin and contours. These physical changes to the body can improve your body image and enhance your self-confidence. The results of a body lift are visible almost immediately, however it may take several months for your final results to fully develop. Numbness and a firm feeling over the skin’s surface will resolve over time. It may take a year or more for incisions lines to refine and fade to some degree

What Is Liposuction? For some reason, no matter how much you exercise or watch your diet, there are pockets of fat that simply won’t go away. Liposuction surgery sculpts your body, eliminating unwanted pockets of exercise and diet-resistant fat. A tube inserted through tiny incisions in the target areas suctions out the fat. Liposuction can remove fat in the abdomen, thighs, hips, buttocks, inner knees, chest, cheeks, chin, calves, love handles, breasts (including male breasts) and ankles. This body-contouring procedure can also be used to enhance other procedures such as tummy tucks and facelifts. Will I Have A Scar From My Liposuction Procedure? Because liposuction incisions are small, the scars are also small. Most liposuction scars fade and are barely visible over time making this procedure one of the safest and most popular cosmetic procedures. Am I A Good Candidate For Liposuction? For certain individuals, diet and exercise will never get rid of stubborn pockets of fat. If you are in good general health and have a positive attitude and realistic expectations, you are most likely a good candidate for this procedure. Recovery After Liposuction After the procedure, the treated areas will be wrapped to help reduce swelling, bruising, and pain. Compression garments, elastic bandages, or other form-fitting garments will need to be worn for the next three to four weeks to help your body adjust to its new contour. There will be a good deal of bruising and swelling for the first week to 10 days. Your specific recovery period will depend on the extent of the treated areas. If you’ve only had a very small amount of fat removed from a single area, you can usually return to work within two to three days. If you’ve had multiple areas treated, you may need about a week of rest. You will be able to see results immediately after your procedure, but the full extent may take up to a month to be realized, due to swelling and adjustment from your body. Most patients can return to their full routine, including exercise, within six weeks. If you take care of yourself, your liposuction results can last forever. But, while the fat removed won’t return to that specific site, if you gain weight, it can form pockets elsewhere. That’s why a continuing healthy lifestyle will produce the best results. What Should I Expect In My Liposuction Consultation? During your initial consultation you will have the opportunity to discuss your specific cosmetic goals. Dr. Sasson will evaluate you as a candidate for liposuction and clarify what liposuction can do for you and if you are the right candidate.

A thigh lift reshapes the thighs by reducing excess skin, and in some cases fat, resulting in smoother skin and better-proportioned contours of the thighs and lower body. If fitness and weight loss efforts have not achieved your goals for a body that is firmer, more youthful-looking and more proportionate to your overall body image, a surgical thigh lift by Dr. Sasson may be right for you. The smoother tighter contouring that result from a thigh lift are apparent almost immediately, although initially obscured by some swelling and bruising. You may be required to wear a compression garment for several weeks following your procedure to minimize swelling and support the tissues as they heal.

Why you should consider an Abdominoplasty with Dr. Sasson Dr. Sasson is an expert in abdominoplasty and uses only the latest techniques in obtaining the most firm, flat, and smooth stomach possible. Dr. Sasson helps patients achieve the look and the self-confidence that they desire. Eating right and getting regular exercise are the key components to living a long and healthy life. Unfortunately, for those who are left with loose skin around their belly, diet and exercise alone may fall short in providing an effective solution. The fact is that the loose skin and extra tissue around your abdomen may require cosmetic surgery like a tummy tuck. Why the Extra Tissue Around Your Tummy Won’t Go Away There are multiple life events that can result in the skin around your abdomen losing elasticity and beginning to sag. Here are some of the more notable causes: The natural aging process: The decrease in collagen production as we age results in the skin losing laxity and weakening Significant weight loss: After a person loses a large amount of weight, the skin and other subcutaneous tissues frequently do not tighten up completely, causing them to sag significantly An after-effect of pregnancy: The skin in the abdomen becomes severely stretched during pregnancy, and it often doesn’t tighten up after childbirth Many people will often associate the issue of excess skin with the need to hit the gym more often or be more cautious in the kitchen. However, while eating right and working out is effective for burning fat and keeping a slim, healthy figure, it cannot help to tighten skin and tissue that has lost elasticity. The tummy tuck is designed to remove these areas of sagging skin and fat to flatten and smooth the abdomen. Is a Tummy Tuck Right for You? It’s important to note that the tummy tuck is not a procedure designed to remove fat. If you have unwanted fat in the belly region along with loose tissue requiring a tummy tuck, then Dr. Sasson can perform liposuction in conjunction with it. During the procedure, Dr. Sasson will make an incision just below where the band of your underwear rests (hipbone to hip bone) in order to minimize the visibility of the scar. Then the underlying muscles and tissues will be tightened and repaired to strengthen your abdominal wall. Excess skin and tissue can then be removed before the remaining skin is pulled firm and incisions are closed. The result is a belly that is flatter, tighter, and looks years younger. Whether you can go home after the surgery or need to spend a couple of days in the hospital depends upon the unique details of your procedure. Dr. Sasson will give you specific instructions for your recovery period. He will discuss everything from how to change your bandages, how to shower, and even when you can exercise. Generally speaking, your recovery period will last a few restful weeks before you are able to return to your normal schedule. Dr. Sasson may recommend that walking will help with your healing. Walking is often strongly encouraged as soon as patients are able to manage it. Combine with Breast Augmentation for a Mommy Makeover Many women combine their tummy tuck with a breast augmentation or breast lift procedure so they can enjoy the simultaneous benefits of a flat belly and perkier breasts. This combination is often referred to as a “Mommy Makeover,” because of its popularity with women who have had children. You certainly don’t need to be a mother to enjoy the benefits of these combined procedures, though. Any woman who has experienced weight fluctuations watched her body change over time, and has become increasingly dissatisfied with her appearance can benefit from this particularly helpful combination of procedures. Can a Tummy Tuck improve the appearance of stretch marks? A large area of stretch marks can be completely removed by a tummy tuck. However, some remaining stretch marks can be improved or be moved to less noticeable areas of the abdomen. Will Tummy Tuck affect a future pregnancy? No, however, pregnancy after a tummy tuck may cause some redundancy and overhanging of the additional skin and recurrence of loose skin stretch marks, revising possible revisional surgeries. Can a Tummy Tuck reduce back pain? Studies have shown that tummy tuck can improve and reduce back pains and at times improve other pains or hernias, and abdominal discomfort associated with abdominal weakness and gastric issues. A tummy tuck can also improve urinary and post-pregnancy. Can a Tummy Tuck be done after a c-section? Yes, very often a tummy tuck is done after c-section and for other previous abdominal or pelvic surgeries. This can result in improvement or complete elimination of previous abdominal scars such as those from c-section or other surgeries.

Breast

Every woman’s cosmetic goals are special to her. We understand that what’s important to you is also unique to who you are. If you are unsatisfied with the size or appearance of your breasts, you may consider breast augmentation surgery. Breast augmentation has become an extremely popular procedure, helping hundreds of thousands of women each year to regain their confidence and love their bodies. Board-Certified, New York plastic surgeon, Dr. Sasson provides women with a wide range of breast implant options at his Great Neck or Manhattan office. When you come in for your consultation with Dr. Sasson, you’ll have the opportunity to outline your cosmetic goals for your breast augmentation. He will listen carefully, using your goals and expectations to help create a completely unique treatment plan that will achieve your ideal results. Breast implants not only increase the size of your breasts but can also enhance the appearance of your overall figure. In some cases, women may also experience a boost in how they feel about themselves. Whether you want to increase the size of your breasts, or are looking to regain volume after weight loss or childbirth, the renewing effect of breast implants can be life-changing. With Dr. Sasson, you are sure to experience expert medical care from start to finish. What Are My Breast Implant Options? Breast augmentation surgery allows women to achieve their ideal breasts. There are many personalized options a woman has while planning her breast surgery with Dr. Sasson. Dr. Sasson will consider the following key features when helping you decide which implants will best suit your body type: Shape (round or anatomically shaped implants) Cup size (implant size) Projection (bust profile) Desired texture (smooth or textured) Filled material (silicone or saline) What Is The Difference Between Saline And Silicone Breast Implants? Breast implants vary in size, shape and in the materials from which they’re made. Saline Implants (which are approved by the FDA for women 18 years or above) have a shell made of silicone, which is filled with saline solution. The benefits of saline implants are cost and incision size. Saline implants cost significantly less than their silicone counterparts and the incision size during surgery is a bit smaller. What Are The Different Type Of Implants? Silicone gel, or gummy bear implants (FDA-approved for women 22 years or older), are filled with a cohesive gel that is known for its close resemblance to natural breast tissue. Women who choose silicone implants may want to achieve a more natural look and feel. Silicone breast implants also come in different shapes and profiles, including the recently FDA approved, natural-looking anatomical shaped implant. Many women combine their breast augmentation or breast lift with an abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) procedure so they can enjoy the simultaneous benefits of a flat belly and perkier breasts. This combination is often referred to as a “Mommy Makeover,” because of its popularity with women who have had children. You certainly don’t need to be a mother to enjoy the benefits of these combined procedures, though. Any woman who has experienced weight fluctuations, watched her body change over time, and become increasingly dissatisfied with her appearance can benefit from this particularly helpful combination of procedures.

It’s important to know that after receiving breast implants, results are not permanent and they may require replacement during your lifetime. You should expect to have future visits with Dr. Sasson to discuss changes in your breasts. Over time, your breasts can change due to aging, weight fluctuations, hormonal factors, and gravity. If, after a period of years, you become dissatisfied with the appearance of your breasts, you may choose to undergo a breast lift or implant exchange to restore a more youthful contour. What is a Breast Implant Revision? Breast implant exchange is a surgical procedure that removes or replaces breast implants placed during breast augmentation. The procedure may be indicated for medical reasons, or it may be the patient’s personal choice. To provide a satisfactory aesthetic outcome, a cosmetic procedure may be performed during or after breast implant removal. Removal of breast implants is frequently followed by replacement with a different implant type (such as silicone gel) or a breast lift (mastopexy) procedure. If you feel that your breasts are saggy, low-hanging or lost shape, then you may be a good candidate for a breast lift. The effects of gravity, pregnancy and breastfeeding, and general aging can cause the skin on your breasts to lose its elasticity. This results in breasts that lose their firmness and shape, and begin to sag. Fortunately, this downward trend can be rectified with a breast lift, clinically known as mastopexy. A breast lift removes excess skin on and around the breasts to raise, reshape, and firm up the breasts. Nipples and areolae may be repositioned and the areolae may also be reduced in size. What to expect from a Breast Lift By the nature of the procedure, breast lifts decrease volume in the breasts. Dr. Sasson will discuss this phenomenon with you during your consultation. You may opt to have breast augmentation performed during your breast lift to replace lost volume. This combination of the two procedures can effectively compensate for the “slipping” effect that can occur when implants are placed into sagging breasts. A breast lift can be combined with breast augmentation if the patient also wants an increase in breast volume or size. A mastopexy involves taking into consideration multiple factors, which you will discuss with Dr. Sasson in your consultation. These include your breast size and shape, the firmness of your breasts, the position of your areolae, and your skin’s elasticity. Recovery after a Breast Lift After your surgery, healing is a gradual process. Although you may be up and about in a day or two, don’t plan on returning to work for a week or more, depending on how you feel. And avoid lifting anything over your head for three to four weeks. Dr. Sasson and his trained staff will give you detailed instructions for resuming your normal activities. You may be instructed to avoid strenuous sports for about a month. After that, you can resume these activities slowly. If you become pregnant, the operation should not affect your ability to breast-feed, since your milk ducts and nipples will be left intact. What will we discuss in our Breast Lift Consultation? In your initial consultation, it’s important to discuss your expectations frankly with Dr. Sasson, and to listen to his opinion. Every patient–and every physician, as well–has a different view of what is a desirable size and shape for breasts. Don’t hesitate to ask any questions you may have, especially those regarding your expectations and concerns about the results.

What is Breast Reduction Surgery? Breast reduction surgery is an extremely rewarding procedure that can help both women and men alike to rid themselves of the debilitating and sometimes embarrassing effects of overly large breasts. Bra straps may leave indentations in their shoulders. And unusually large breasts can make a woman or a teenage girl-feel extremely self-conscious. Men and younger boys can also be afflicted with embarrassing large breasts referred to as Gynecomastia. Dr. Sasson takes a special interest in helping adolescents in need of this procedure which can be life-changing. Dr. Sasson can help you attain breasts that are a more comfortable size and are more flattering to your overall appearance. Our commitment is to safe, effective breast reduction procedures and an outcome that makes you look and feel better than you imagined. Planning Your Surgery In your initial consultation, it’s important to discuss your expectations frankly with Dr. Sasson and to listen to his opinion. Every patient and every physician as well as a different view of what is a desirable size and shape for breasts. Will My Insurance Cover My Breast Reduction Surgery? As an end-to-end service, we strive to make the insurance process as seamless as possible for our patients. The process begins with our team reviewing your benefits and managing your insurance requirements for pre-certification and/or predetermination. From there, we also manage all insurance correspondence to ensure you receive your full benefits for your breast reduction procedure. What is the recovery process for Breast Reduction Surgery? Although you may be up and about in a day or two, your breasts may still ache occasionally for a couple of weeks. You should avoid lifting or pushing anything heavy for three or four weeks. Dr. Sasson will give you detailed instructions for resuming your normal activities. Most patients can return to work (if it’s not too strenuous) and social activities in about two weeks. But you’ll have much less stamina for several weeks, and should limit your exercises to stretching, bending, and swimming until your energy level returns. You’ll also need a good athletic bra for support. Of all plastic surgery procedures, breast reduction results in the quickest body-image changes. You’ll be rid of the physical discomfort of large breasts, your body will look better proportioned, and clothes will fit you better. Is there a consultation fee for Breast Reduction Surgery? Breast reduction surgery in most circumstances is considered medically necessary and the consultation fee is usually covered by insurance and/ or waived until surgical authorization is obtained by our office from the insurance company. Will Breast Reduction Surgery help me with back pain? Reducing of the breast usually improves upper back, shoulder and neck pain. It feels like it is easier to stand up and exercise with more ease, self- confidence and significantly less back pain after reduction. Will a Breast Reduction lift my breasts? Yes, the design of the operation helps lift the breast and reposition the nipple/ areolas to give a more natural and youthful appearance. Can Breast Reduction Surgery affect hormone/ breastfeeding? Breast Reduction may interfere with breastfeeding but most women can still breastfeed to some extent. Can I combine Breast Reduction Surgery with other procedures? Breast reduction surgery can be combined with multiple other cosmetic procedures, such as liposuction, abdominoplasty in addiction to some facial procedures. How many times will I need to do Breast Reduction Surgery? Usually one time. If significant weight gain occurs after breast reduction, the size of the breast may increase in size. Pregnancy usually results in temporary enlargement of the breast, depending on age at the time of initial breast reduction, some may desire breast lift if breast becomes droopy.

What causes gynecomastia? Gynecomastia (male breast enlargement) normally occurs during a boy’s puberty due to changes in the ratio of estrogen and testosterone. Some newborns exhibit short term gynecomastia due to the mother’s estrogen hormone traversing the blood. Aging due to hormonal imbalances can also result in gynecomstia. Numerous other conditions can result in this disorder, including thyroid and kidney diseases, some tumors, herbs and chemotherapy. Drug use including marijuana, cocaine and heroin as well as amphetamines, and other medications including antibiotics, anti-anxiety and anti-depression drugs, steroids, AIDS drugs and drugs used for heart burns can contribute to this disorder. Dr. Sasson will perform the surgery in an outpatient surgical facility or hospital. This requires excellent surgical skills as well as artistry – knowing how much tissue to remove and how much tissue to retain. Time in surgery is typically an hour and half, but more extensive male breast reduction may take longer. The patient typically goes home the same day for recovery. The first few days of recovery are the most critical time where vigorous movements of the shoulder joints are not allowed. Within 4 to 5 weeks of the operation the patient is allowed to resume full activities.

Face

A forehead lift or brow lift is a procedure that restores a more youthful, refreshed look to the area above the eyes. The procedure corrects drooping brows and improves the horizontal lines and furrows that can make a person appear angry, sad or tired. In a brow lift, the muscles and tissues that cause the furrowing or drooping are removed or altered to smooth the forehead, raise the eyebrows and minimize frown lines. A Brow Lift is most commonly performed in the 40-60 age range to minimize the visible effects of aging. However, it can also help people of any age who have developed furrows or frown lines due to stress or muscle activity. Individuals with inherited conditions, such as a low, heavy brow or furrowed lines above the nose can achieve a more alert and refreshed look with this procedure. Dr. Sasson often performs the Brow lift surgery in conjunction with a facelift to provide a smoother overall look to the face. Eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) may also be performed at the same time as a forehead lift, especially if a patient has significant skin overhang in the upper eyelids. Sometimes, patients who believe they need upper-eyelid surgery find that a forehead lift better meets their surgical goals. Although you should be up and about in a day or two, plan on taking it easy for at least the first week after surgery. You should be able to shower and shampoo your hair within two days, or as soon as the bandage is removed. Most patients are back to work or school in a week to 10 days. Endoscopic patients may feel ready to return even sooner. Vigorous physical activity should limited for several weeks, including jogging, bending, heavy housework, sex, or any activity that increases your blood pressure. Prolonged exposure to heat or sun should be limited for several months. Most of the visible signs of surgery should fade completely within about three weeks. Minor swelling and bruising can be concealed with special camouflage makeup. You may feel a bit tired and let down at first, but your energy level will increase as you begin to look and feel better. Your New Look Most patients are pleased with the results of a forehead lift, no matter which surgical method was used. Often, patients don’t realize how much their sagging forehead contributed to the signs of aging until they see how much younger and more rested they appear after the lift. Although a forehead lift does not stop the clock, it can minimize the appearance of aging for years. As time passes, you may want to repeat the procedure.

Chin surgery is a surgical procedure to reshape the chin. This can be accomplished in several ways. Dr. Sasson may recommend enhancement with a facial implant or surgical reshaping of the chin bone. The general goal of cosmetic chin surgery is to provide a harmonious balance to your chin and facial features so that you feel better about the way you look. Many times Dr. Sasson may recommend Chin Surgery to a patient having nose surgery in order to achieve facial proportion, as the size of the chin may magnify or minimize the perceived size of the nose. With a short incision under the chin or inside the mouth, Dr. Sasson can place a chin implant directly on the bone. For a chin implant, the incision may be inside your mouth, along the crease that joins your lower lip and gums. An incision just beneath the chin is another alternative that may be recommended.

If you or your child is affected by prominent ears that stick out a bit too far from the head, otoplasty (ear correction surgery) may be the right option for you. Ear surgery, or otoplasty, is usually done to set prominent ears back closer to the head or to reduce the size of large ears. This operation is typically done on children between the ages of four and 14. Ears are almost fully grown by age four, and the earlier the surgery is completed, the less teasing and ridicule the child will have to endure. Dr. Sasson can determine if you or your child is a right candidate for otoplasty. If your child is young, Dr. Sasson may recommend general anesthesia, so the child will sleep through the operation. For older children or adults, Dr. Sasson may prefer to use local anesthesia, combined with a sedative, so you or your child will be awake but relaxed. Ear surgery usually takes about two to three hours, although complicated procedures may take longer. The technique will depend on the problem. In most cases, ear surgery will leave a faint scar in the back of the ear that will fade with time. Even when only one ear appears to protrude, surgery is usually performed on both ears for a better balance. With children, the change in their appearance quickly restores their self-confidence and stops the ridicule and teasing. This Dr. Sasson believes is the most important aspect of this surgery for children.

Eyelid surgery, medically referred to as blepharoplasty, can do wonders for rejuvenating the area surrounding the eyes and giving you a more refreshed and youthful appearance. This commonly performed procedure can reduce the appearance of under eye bags and other signs of aging and exhaustion. You may notice progressive changes to your eyelid area and shape as you mature. Aging can cause your eyelids to droop and make you look tired and weary. These days a lot of focus is put into maintaining the look of the skin and treating facial lines and wrinkles. However, we often let our eyes go untreated, allowing puffiness or drooping of the eyelids to develop. Even when the rest of your face is looking refreshed, an aged look of your eyes can be distracting. Blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) with Board Certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Sasson can help to liven up the look of aging eyes. Is Eyelid Surgery Necessary if I’ve Had Other Facial Procedures? Each facial surgery targets a different area of the face. While alone they will help you to look years younger, they may be missing other areas of your face. For example, while a facelift will help your face to look much younger overall, visible signs of aging can still be left around your eyes. Eyelid surgery is for patients who wish to rejuvenate the look of their eyes. Men and women will often combine facial procedures like eyelid surgery and a facelift, but not everyone will necessarily require both. Dr. Sasson may also be able to treat vision obstruction or congenital disorders like ptosis with upper blepharoplasty. Lower eyelid surgery can help patients who are experiencing puffiness or discoloration below the eyes. A full blepharoplasty surgery is performed on both the upper and lower eyelids for a complete rejuvenation of the eyes.

Facial Rejuvenation Surgery in Great Neck and Manhattan With age comes wisdom, grace, and a lifetime of valuable experience. Age also brings sagging skin and facial wrinkles that can leave a person unhappy with their changing appearance. This natural, age-related change can make a person look much older than they feel. A facelift may be a way to rejuvenate one’s appearance. Facelift surgery with the skills of the Board Certified plastic surgeon Dr. Sasson can help to give you back your youthfulness even when you thought it was lost. Am I a Candidate for a Facelift? With the increasing availability of non-surgical treatments, the decision may be confusing on which facial filler or injectable procedure will best solve your aging problems. Treatments like Juvederm®, Radiesse®, Botox® and Restylane® are effective for a quick, temporary solution to lines and wrinkles, but patients will need to maintain a routine treatment plan every few months as results begin to fade. As you get older and the appearance of aging becomes more persistent, surgical options such as a facelift surgery can provide better, longer lasting results than non-surgical options. Men and women who undergo a facelift at a younger age may retain their youthful appearance for a longer period with less drastic looking results. A facelift can effectively treat issues such as the Nasolabial folds, Marionette lines and sagging jowls. Facelift Procedures There are several different types of facelift surgeries. Dr. Sasson will thoroughly examine your face to determine which approach is best suited to your facial structure. The moderate or “mini” facelift focuses on issues in the middle of the face, such as drooping cheeks and deep nose-to-mouth lines. This procedure uses small incisions near your hairline and inside your mouth to lift and reposition the fatty layer over your cheekbones. This tightens and rejuvenates the middle of the face, making you look subtly younger. The full facelift surgery is ideal for someone that has deep facial wrinkles, excess fatty deposits, jowls, drooping eyelids, lax cheeks, and other more severe signs of aging. Because the full facelift addresses many different areas and is customized around your specific needs, it is, in many ways, a combination of procedures, including the forehead lift, eyelid surgery, mid facelift, and lower facelift. In most cases, a full facelift involves starting an incision in your hairline near the temple level that goes around the front of your ear and back to the base of your hairline. Underlying muscle and tissue are then reshaped to achieve a youthful contouring of the facial structure. Dr. Sasson will then pull your skin back for a natural, firm look and feel before removing excess skin and closing your incisions. How Long Until I see the Final Results from a Facelift? It will take some time before you are able to see the full results of your procedure, but the recovery process is a necessary part of any surgery. Most patients are able to go back to work and resume social activities after about two weeks. If any bruising or swelling bothers you, you may consider wearing makeup or changing your hairstyle to temporarily hide the aftereffects of surgery. Your face will continue to heal over the next few months. Seeing the final results in the mirror for the first time has been an emotionally rewarding experience for many of our facelift patients. For many, it is not just about looking younger, but also feeling confident and happy in their own skin again. You should be enjoying your life—not dreading each passing year because of new lines and wrinkles. Take back control of your looks with a facelift.

Facial implants are designed to augment, reconstruct, or rejuvenate your facial contours. They are available in a wide range of sizes and styles and restore contour and/or proportion to your face. Facial implants can be used to augment your chin and jaw, to provide the sculpted cheekbones that you desire, or to supplement the tear trough area. Dr. Sasson may recommend implants in order to provide a harmonious balance to your chin, cheekbones and other facial features so that you feel better about the way you look. When to Consider Facial Implants If you have a weak, receding chin and wish to make it more projecting and improve your jawline If you wish to enhance the definition and fullness of your cheeks If you wish to restore contour and proportion to your facial structures made deficient by aging If you wish to correct facial asymmetry or deformities resulting from injury or congenital conditions If you are in good general health, have a positive attitude and realistic expectations, you are most likely a good candidate for this procedure.

Fat grafting is also known as autologous fat transplantation or micro-lipoinjection is gaining popularity. During facial fat grafting, fat cells are extracted from your abdomen, thighs, buttocks or elsewhere and re-injected beneath the facial skin. Fat can fill in sunken cheeks or lines between the nose and mouth, correct skin depressions, minimize forehead wrinkles or enhance the lips. Dr. Sasson can determine if you are a right candidate for fat grafting. Allergic reaction is not a factor for fat because the filler is harvested from your own body. However, there is still a small risk of infection and other infrequent complications. After Fat Grafting While some treatments require a brief recovery period, many patients resume normal activity right away. Expect some swelling, bruising or redness in both the donor and recipient sites. The severity of these symptoms depends upon the size and location of the treated area. Stay out of the sun until redness and bruising subsides – usually about 48 hours. In the meantime, you may use makeup with sunblock protection to help conceal your condition. In some cases, swelling and puffiness in the recipient site lasts several weeks, especially if a large area was filled. How long do the results last? While some patients report results lasting 1 year or more, the majority of patients find that at least half of the injected fullness disappears within 3-6 months. Therefore, repeated injections may be necessary. Your doctor will advise you on how to maintain your results with repeat treatments.
