When called into the preoperative assessment area you will be asked to remove clothing and jewelry; a gown, cap, and slipper socks are provided and lockers are available for personal items. Secure dentures, hearing aids, glasses, or contact lenses as instructed. Bring photo ID, your insurance card(s), and an up‑to‑date list of medications and allergies.

How long is the typical recovery time in the Post‑Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)?

If you received general anesthesia or sedation, the average recovery time is about 90 minutes. If you received only local anesthesia and remained conscious, the average recovery time is about 30 minutes. While in PACU you are frequently monitored for vital signs, pain, nausea, bleeding, and other symptoms.
