  MEMORABLE EXPERIENCE, FOR ALL THE WRONG REASONS I was referred to the Canandaigua branch of the Eye Care Center by my regular optometrist. I had developed painful cysts in my eyes due to plugged eyelid glands. It took several weeks to get an appointment to see the Center's specialist. I first had to complete the most exhaustive questionnaire that got into what I consider personal information nowhere relevant to eye care. When the day of the visit finally arrived, several receptionists checked me in, another two young women escorted me to the clinic, and an intake specialist asked me to explain why I was there. Not only had I explained this already when I scheduled the appointment, but my regular optometrist had said she would send my records to the Center. Most annoying was the fact that the lady taking the information asked me the same questions several times; it seemed that her attention span was less than a few seconds, so the process was a greater nuisance than what it should have been, even if I had to relate the same information they were supposed to already have. After over 30 minutes, the specialist finally entered, accompanied by two other women, one of whom entered what the specialist said into the computer. During the latter process, these two ladies kept whispering comments to each other and giggling. I wondered if they were talking about me; not that I would care much if they were, but I found this the MOST UNPROFESSIONAL MEDICAL EXPERIENCE EVER IN MY LIFE--and I am a senior citizen! The specialist's bedside manner was curt, dry and hurried; she seemed very rushed and uncaring about my condition which, to my relief, healed on its own so I do not ever need to set foot again at this Eye "Care" Center. My visit was about three months ago. The fact that I remember every detail, including the whole TWO MINUTES with the specialist, should illustrate how unpleasant an experience this was.

  This was my first time at The Eye Care Center - Canandaigua. I was impressed with the facility and the staff.

  Reception was cordial. I merely had a stye in my eye. After examination the NP prescribed eye drops, Ofloxacin. Did not work at all. I saw an eye Doctor 2 days later. I was informed the eye drops prescribed DO NOTHING for Stye!!! Was give Cephalexin, simple antibiotic. Dont waste your time and money. Go to a real doctor.
