- RRrsalaniaSep 24, 20264.0Its wild that glasses script is only given for 1 year here now. Seems to be a recent trend among optometrists. NY state regulations is 2 years , which is what its always been-glasses script 2 years and contacts 1 year. The explanation i got from LensCraftets is "just in case of health and medication changes like diabetes". Yea, makes sense i suppose, just as much as saying that generally healthy young consumers will call if SOMETHING DRASTIC CHANGES to update our glasses? We've been running around with 2 year old glasses and its working out OK. Its really that elementary. Anyway aside from that it went fine, they have some new equipment and its tidy. Only complaint is the glasses script validity shortening. Considering inflation and general prices spiking, charging your patients to get new glasses script every year seems unnecessary.
