To all customer's and future customer's!
My name is Martin. I am turely speechless, this has been my worst experience. Back in 2022 I had a stroke, which render me in a wheelchair. I was told in the hospital that this company would handle my wheelchair order and that the tec was good. They send someone to my house to take measurement to make sure that chair fits through my door. Measurement were taken wrong and chair hardy fits through my door. since I had my chair there is nothing but issues. Customer service no help. Parts take more then two months to arrive. Today I had an emergency at the location. I was trying to transfer chairs to get my chair fixed. My aide was unable to transfer me due to floor being slippery. Can you believe that I slipped and fell. All the employee's said they not allow to help me and they couldn't lift me. After calling 911 three times an ambulance came to help me. I will make sure this message reaches every hospital and rehab center this company supplies wheelchairs.

Other than Liz Rodriguez my experience with National Seating and mobility has been a nightmare. Liz is the only one who followed thru on helping me get an appointment to get my son’s chair repaired. It’s been 6 months of useless emails and so many unanswered phone calls. Your Lack of empathy and the emotional toll not getting this repair done in a timely manner cannot be measured. Thank you again Liz you are an Angel

The delivery guys Frank and Ralph were very helpful with communication and making a way to deliver our merchandise in spite of the issue finding parking and us having no elevator. They were understanding of the situation and still brought the merchandise inside my apartment and set up everything as promised. I feel the service was good and appreciate really their help👍

Missing accessories in wheelchair took months to rectify because their “specialist” omitted an order; they recommended a model that was brand new and they had no experience with and is quickly falling apart; they got the sizing wrong and we had to wait extra months; they gave us a wheelchair that was damaged in transit but they did not bother to check and make sure it was in working order before sending us home with it. Will do everything I can not to work with this company again.

I’ve been coming to this location for years. I continue going because Angel V. provides the best possible service that I can ask for as a power chair user. He listens to what my concerns are, assesses the situation with my chair, and ensures that it is optimally functional for me.
Apart from that, there are some improvements that could be made with getting an appointment and having questions answered via telephone. Operationally, NSM doesn’t seem to value the client experience and that’s horrible, given the demographic of clients that they serve. Not responding to someone whose chair (legs) needs repairing is mind boggling to me, especially with the amount they bill my insurance.
Frequently Asked Questions About National Seating & Mobility
What makes NSM the preferred choice for obtaining mobility solutions?
At NSM, we are uniquely positioned to search hundreds of sources for the precise components needed to create a chair that is made specifically to meet the needs of each client. Each chair can be designed for maximum comfort and ease and will provide the specific therapeutic benefits prescribed for you by the health care team. But what really sets NSM apart is our approach. We work from the heart, honoring your journey of independence with efficient, friendly attention that puts your interests first. This is our life’s work—to help others move through life—and we take it very seriously.
How can I work with NSM for my mobility needs?
National Seating & Mobility is a member of your rehabilitation health care team. We work with your physician, nurses and therapists to provide a one-of-a-kind mobility solution customized to your needs and preferences. Because we work in a partnership with your health care team, we require a referral from them in order to be your mobility provider. To help ensure your choice of NSM, you should request that your physician and/or therapist select us as your provider of choice.
How long does it take to get a new power wheelchair from NSM?
NSM strives to complete each timeline phase as quickly as possible without compromising any step in the process. Please refer to this page for the full timeline. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
Why must I see a doctor to get a wheelchair from NSM?
Our clients have mobility challenges and are referred to us by therapists and physicians to receive mobility solutions that meets all their unique needs. If you need a wheelchair, your best plan is to talk with your physician or therapist and get a thorough evaluation from a qualified Rehab Technology Supplier (RTS).
What if my medical condition changes?
Contact your local NSM branch and notify us of any changes that may affect the proper fit and function of your chair.
Are there any dangers in using an off-the-shelf wheelchair?
Definitely. A standard or not customized chair can cause more harm than good. People come in all shapes and sizes; their chairs must be designed to fit them. In severe situations, a standard or not customized chair may:
- Cause significant physiological and psychological problems
- Lead to an increase in dependence because it’s not used due to lack of comfort
- Cause pressure sores, or decubitus, due to improper cushioning
- Become obsolete quickly if not configured to “grow with the child”
- Become a major expense to replace or reconfigure, because most funding sources will only reimburse for a new chair every five years.
Do I have a choice of which mobility solutions company to use?
The choice of a wheeled mobility supplier is yours. Discuss your decision with your physician and therapist.
