Love this Pilates studio in Astoria. As a first time Pilates person when the studio opened, the staff have made it such an enjoyable ride. Would recommend to all

Watch out. Financial scam alert! I took a trial class and was offered that same day to receive a $50 credit if I signed on for a month using an American Express credit card. I decided I would do it. As I'm getting ready to make the payment, the Club Pilates staff member mentions it's a 3-month commitment. I should have backed out then, but I was already in the middle of the transaction and felt like I had made a decision, so I went through with it. Big Mistake. After a long phone call to my credit card company, I found out the Am Ex offer didn't even exist. When I called Club Pilates about this, they said they realized this was the case (but never called me to rectify). I told them I wanted out of the agreement, but was told I was locked in because I signed a 3-month contract (which I never did). At that point, I was provided with a contract, which I had never before seen, which had my name typed in. When I told the representative from Club Pilates that I never signed this contract, she told me that they had texted a code to my phone during my one and only visit to the gym, and that was serving as my electronic signature. SCARY!!!!!!! I told the Club Pilates staff member that I planned to dispute the charges with my credit card, and she told me that it wouldn't work and I'd be responsible for an additional $25 of credit card processing fees if things didn't go my way. It all seems like a scam to me, and even more concerning because she had the credit card dispute info right at the tip of her tongue, suggesting that she probably has to say this to a lot of people who they scam. DON'T GET INVOLVED!!!!!!!! The only class I ever took here was a free trial, and they won't budge, even though they violated the original offer they set out. I wish I never came here.

Class size to instructor ratio is too big.
Price is too much for so little attention from the instructor.
I also signed up during their grand opening where I was told I could try this for a month without the cancellation fees, and then was charged a cancellation fee and had visited the location twice to dispute it and they refused to honor it.

I had a very uncomfortable and disappointing experience during my first 30-minute intro Pilates class with Hasani. As a first-time client, I wasn’t familiar with the layout and mistakenly walked toward what I thought was a changing room. The instructor immediately called me out in front of the entire room, which felt unnecessary and embarrassing.
As I walked away, my friend noticed him scoffing behind my back. I chose to ignore it and give him the benefit of the doubt, but the situation only escalated once class began. Despite there being two open machines next to each other, he announced that he would be separating me and my friend in front of the entire class. When I calmly explained that I would feel more comfortable next to her, he dismissed me and said we would distract each other.
I reiterated that we wouldn’t be distracting and that I simply wanted to feel comfortable—something I expressed more than once. Instead of acknowledging that, he responded with a condescending tone, even asking whether my friend knew more about Pilates than him, which was completely irrelevant and unprofessional. At no point did I challenge his authority—I was just asking to feel at ease in a new environment.
Feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome, I decided to leave. After I walked out my friend stayed briefly and heard him ask the entire class “Am I wrong? Am I crazy?” which created an even more awkward and inappropriate atmosphere. He then told another staff member that I “got mad” just because he separated us, which completely misrepresented the situation.
This experience was humiliating. Trying something new can already be intimidating, and having an instructor who dismisses your comfort and speaks to you in that manner makes it much worse.
That said, the front desk staff—especially Stacy—were kind, understanding, and handled the situation amazingly by rescheduling us. I will be coming back but NEVER with this instructor again.
