The assistant gave me multifocal contacts(I'm not nearsighted) and caused me to have migraines and blurry vision for a week. I spoke with the receptionist telling her I believe my prescription was incorrect, and she rudely cut me off and told me I had to schedule an appointment in-person JUST to speak with the doctor(phone call happened at 6:21pm on 7/8/2026). As a patient at the practice I should have been allowed to speak with my doctor. I'm not wasting another two hours of my time because this place gave me the wrong contact lenses. The doctor was nice to me. Support staff absolutely awful. This facility will put the health of your eye at risk, so use caution and double-check that what they are doing is right.
I also find it really frustrating how they never have doctors in the office in person, yet force you to come to the office in person just to ask a couple of questions. Absolutely ridiculous.

Shaista did an excellent job adjusting the fit for my new frames. She also noticed my current frames were a but loose and fixed that for me. As it happens, she had assisted me when my phone died at the mall a couple of weeks ago. She is so friendly and goes above and beyond to help. Shaista is a great asset to Lenscrafters.

Everyone here is so friendly and helpful. I came in to get my glasses adjusted and they helped with no problems. Shaista the optician was so kind. I will continue to come here and I recommend others come as well!

I saw Dr. Chandra for the first time today and found her to be incredibly informative and thorough. She gave great care to the exam and explaining conditions, as well as options. Matthew was extremely helpful and friendly with my contact lens purchase. I came back later for eyeglasses purchase and Shaista was a wonderful associate. She was friendly, helpful, thorough and patient. I also found assistant manager Laurie to be extremely patient and professional. We have been long time patients at this specific LensCrafters and are always pleased with the customer service experience, in addition to the quality of care.

Zaya at Colonie Center is outstanding. I’ve been to many vision centers and none has ever assisted me in a successful purchase like Zaya. She really made sure the glasses were going to be a match for me in terms of fit size and prescription. She was very kind and patient and made it a pleasant experience. I can tell you I’ve usually not had pleasant experience at vision centers so this was really surprising and pleasant for me. Thank you, Zaya.
Taking your child to an optometrist for an eye exam is the best way to learn if your child needs glasses. Many children who need glasses aren’t aware that they do. Signs of vision problems in children include sitting too close to the television, squinting, sensitivity to light, difficulty with eye-hand coordination, and avoiding visual activities like reading and drawing. To see if your child needs glasses, schedule your child’s eye exam today.
Is a contact lens exam different than an eye exam?
A normal, comprehensive eye exam will allow your optometrist to determine if your eyes are healthy enough to wear contact lenses. During your contact lens fitting, detailed measurements of your eyes will be taken to determine the right contact lenses for you. There is an additional fee for a contact lens fitting and evaluation for all contact lens patients (both new and established patients). Schedule your eye exam today to have all of your questions about contact lenses answered.
What is the difference between an eye exam and a vision screening?
A comprehensive eye exam is administered by an optometrist and can detect not only vision problems but problems with eye health and general health as well. A vision screening is typically performed by a general medical practitioner such as a pediatrician or a nurse. While a vision screening can help identify vision issues, it can miss many important issues that a comprehensive eye exam can identify. This is why everyone is encouraged to get annual eye exams. Schedule your eye exam today!
Why should I get an eye exam?
An annual eye exam involves more than just updating your glasses or contact prescription. A comprehensive eye exam can also detect eye health issues as well as general health problems. Conditions such as diabetes and high blood pressure can be detected in early stages through an eye exam, and this can result in early treatment. Schedule your annual eye exam today.
What should I bring to my eye exam?
You should bring your vision insurance and medical insurance information to your eye exam. If you currently wear any prescription lenses, bring your eyeglasses, sunglasses, and contact lenses. You should also bring any and all questions you may have. Contact your optometrist if you have specific questions about any additional items you think you may need to bring to your eye exam.
