Vaccinations

Routine vaccinations are one of the easiest ways to keep yourself healthy. Our pharmacies provide annual flu vaccines, COVID-19 vaccinations, routine child and adult immunizations, catch-up vaccines and travel vaccines.

This vaccine protects against chickenpox, a disease caused by the varicella zoster virus. Adults born in 1980 or later need two doses.

This vaccine protects against coronavirus. Depending on the manufacturer, up to two doses and a booster are currently recommended.

This vaccine protects against Hepatitis A, an infection in the liver often spread by contaminated food and caused by hepatitis A virus. Adults traveling outside the country, those with chronic liver disease, and men who have sex with men need at least two doses.

This vaccine protects against Hepatitis B, a blood-borne infection of the liver caused by hepatitis B virus. Adults with chronic health conditions and healthcare workers should get three doses of this vaccine.

This vaccine protects against HPV, the major cause of cervical cancer, anal cancer, and genital warts in both women and men. Adults age 9-26 need at least two doses.

This vaccine protects against influenza, a contagious viral infection of the nose, throat, and lungs. Everyone 6 months and older should receive a yearly flu vaccine.

This vaccine protects against the respiratory disease measles, the infectious disease mumps, and the viral disease rubella. Adults born in 1957 or later need at least one dose.

There are two types of meningococcal vaccines that protect against meningococcal disease, a leading cause of bacterial meningitis infections around the brain and spinal cord. All 11-12 year olds should get a meningococcal conjugate vaccine and a booster dose at 16 years old. People age 16-23 years also may get a serogroup B meningococcal vaccine.

These vaccines protect against pneumococcal disease, caused by bacteria leading to ear and sinus infections as well as more serious lung and blood infections. If you smoke, have heart disease, asthma, chronic lung disease, or are over 65 years old, you need at least one dose.

This vaccine protects against polio, a disease that can infect a person’s spinal cord and cause paralysis. Children are recommended to get one vaccine dose at 2 months old, 4 months old, 6 through 18 months old, and 4 through 6 years old.

This vaccine protects against shingles, a painful skin rash caused by the varicella zoster virus. Adults age 50 and older need two doses.

These vaccines protect against tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis which are contagious bacterial diseases. Adults need one dose of Tdap, then a Td or Tdap booster every 10 years.

Physical & Wellness Screenings

Our pharmacies offer a number of wellness screenings to help detect and prevent certain diseases.

When you come in for a biometric screening, your provider will measure your height, weight and blood pressure. They will also test your blood glucose, and lipids (cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL, LDL) using a finger prick to obtain a blood sample. Before leaving you will have your results along with risk reduction counseling to help you achieve your optimum health. **Biometric Screenings are available at select pharmacies only.

Blood glucose measurement detects the amount of glucose (sugar) in the bloodstream. High or low blood sugars could indicate a metabolic condition, such as diabetes.

Hemoglobin A1C measures your average blood glucose (sugar) over the past 90 days. An elevated hemoglobin A1C could indicate the presence of diabetes. **Hemoglobin A1C Screenings are available at select pharmacies only.

Cholesterol screening measures the amount of cholesterol, triglycerides, high density lipoprotein (HDL) and low density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol levels in the blood. Cholesterol screenings can detect conditions such as high cholesterol or high triglycerides.

Most places are under staff these days. Since I like shopping at Smith's, I find it convenient to pick up my prescription at this location. I don't like to be hard on the staff, because it really isn't the employees fault they are short handed. My prescription is usually ready, when I'm done with my shopping. They seem like a busy pharmacy. If I ever switch pharmacy's, it would be because they are too short staff to accommodate me. So far it hasn't come down to that.

You'll notice all recent reviews are 1 star. The pharmacy is irresponsible regarding clients' health. For several months prescriptions have taken up to 5 days to fill and only after I travel up and stress to a rude staff how important it is. If my dog does not take her meds every 12 hours she will have seizures and they become clustered and if I can't stop them she can die if not going in for an uber-expensive emergency visit. She is even then at risk of dying. The pharmacy did not care, which is against medical ethics. This is dangerous for clients. I had to borrow pills to keep her medicated. They say they are short-staffed. For months? Maybe they should pay fair wages and offer decent working conditions. I understand the staff is likely tired of complaints but that is no excuse for rudeness and non-existant customer service. I switched to Walgreens where prescriptions are ready in 15 minutes and where refills are ready before you run out. I am even questioning the grocery section now as, if the pharmacy isn't held to professional standards, perhaps nothing is. The pharmacy needs to close for a week so all back-logged prescriptions can be filled, new policies put in place and staff retrained. Meanwhile, if you value yours, your children's and your pet's lives you might want to try elsewhere.

I transferred an rx because of a coupon they offered and because we shop there. I thought it would be convenient, so why not? It was not an easy or pleasant process. They were supposed to text when they were ready in about an hour, but I had to go in the next morning to get them ( then I got a text a half hour later). They were more expensive than my previous pharmacy, the staff was not very friendly and their bottle lids are very difficult to use and cannot be put on any other way. Usually the lids are reversible so if you do not have kids you can open them easy. These are flat and hard to open. Im sure you could ask for other lids but just be aware if you don't, you will get these by default. Sadly, I will be switching back to my other 2 pharmacies. Love the grocery store but not the pharmacy.

I've been with this pharmacy for over ten years now and it has no equal in my experience. The staff are truly wonderful people and treat you like family. They know customers by name and always go over and above to deliver the best service possible. Insurance glitches happen from time to time and staff knows how to deal with these situations in a professional and timely manner. Well done, Smiths, for having the best pharmacy crew on the planet.
