Vaccinations

Routine vaccinations are one of the easiest ways to keep yourself healthy. Our pharmacies provide annual flu vaccines, COVID-19 vaccinations, routine child and adult immunizations, catch-up vaccines and travel vaccines.

This vaccine protects against chickenpox, a disease caused by the varicella zoster virus. Adults born in 1980 or later need two doses.

This vaccine protects against coronavirus. Depending on the manufacturer, up to two doses and a booster are currently recommended.

This vaccine protects against Hepatitis A, an infection in the liver often spread by contaminated food and caused by hepatitis A virus. Adults traveling outside the country, those with chronic liver disease, and men who have sex with men need at least two doses.

This vaccine protects against Hepatitis B, a blood-borne infection of the liver caused by hepatitis B virus. Adults with chronic health conditions and healthcare workers should get three doses of this vaccine.

This vaccine protects against HPV, the major cause of cervical cancer, anal cancer, and genital warts in both women and men. Adults age 9-26 need at least two doses.

This vaccine protects against influenza, a contagious viral infection of the nose, throat, and lungs. Everyone 6 months and older should receive a yearly flu vaccine.

This vaccine protects against the respiratory disease measles, the infectious disease mumps, and the viral disease rubella. Adults born in 1957 or later need at least one dose.

There are two types of meningococcal vaccines that protect against meningococcal disease, a leading cause of bacterial meningitis infections around the brain and spinal cord. All 11-12 year olds should get a meningococcal conjugate vaccine and a booster dose at 16 years old. People age 16-23 years also may get a serogroup B meningococcal vaccine.

These vaccines protect against pneumococcal disease, caused by bacteria leading to ear and sinus infections as well as more serious lung and blood infections. If you smoke, have heart disease, asthma, chronic lung disease, or are over 65 years old, you need at least one dose.

This vaccine protects against polio, a disease that can infect a person’s spinal cord and cause paralysis. Children are recommended to get one vaccine dose at 2 months old, 4 months old, 6 through 18 months old, and 4 through 6 years old.

This vaccine protects against shingles, a painful skin rash caused by the varicella zoster virus. Adults age 50 and older need two doses.

These vaccines protect against tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis which are contagious bacterial diseases. Adults need one dose of Tdap, then a Td or Tdap booster every 10 years.

Physical & Wellness Screenings

Our pharmacies offer a number of wellness screenings to help detect and prevent certain diseases.

When you come in for a biometric screening, your provider will measure your height, weight and blood pressure. They will also test your blood glucose, and lipids (cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL, LDL) using a finger prick to obtain a blood sample. Before leaving you will have your results along with risk reduction counseling to help you achieve your optimum health. **Biometric Screenings are available at select pharmacies only.

Blood glucose measurement detects the amount of glucose (sugar) in the bloodstream. High or low blood sugars could indicate a metabolic condition, such as diabetes.

Hemoglobin A1C measures your average blood glucose (sugar) over the past 90 days. An elevated hemoglobin A1C could indicate the presence of diabetes. **Hemoglobin A1C Screenings are available at select pharmacies only.

Cholesterol screening measures the amount of cholesterol, triglycerides, high density lipoprotein (HDL) and low density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol levels in the blood. Cholesterol screenings can detect conditions such as high cholesterol or high triglycerides.

I arrived at 12:45. The gentleman in front of me took about 10 minutes. Another associate asked to help me at about 12:55. I was pulling up my GoodRx and the manager literally shut the gate on me. I asked the manager if she was really not going to help me, and she said, "Oooohhhhh." While tilting her head to the side and sticking out her bottom lip. Way to be professional and rake care of your customers. Thanks I'll go to CVS. 😙✌️

This is by far the worst pharmacy in Albuquerque, maybe even Earth. The staff are lazy, incompetent, and rude enough to ruin your years worth of business here with one interaction. If they were smart, they would get rid of the Sunday staff completely, but I am sure they are scraping the barrel to fill those positions already. I’ll never be back for your drugs, but you haven’t heard the last of me.

Today Smith's Pharmacy on McMahon gets a 1 star because of the pharmacist Darrell. I called maybe 2 or 3 days ago to fill my children's prescriptions before they ran out.(they have chronic pain and autoimmune disease(s)). Insurance wouldn't cover until today. That's fine. Spoke with Steven on Tuesday or Wednesday said would put it in to be ready first thing Saturday morning.( pharmacy Opens at 10). I call before I head over because I don't live in that area anymore. ( I decided to stay with Smith's pharmacy on McMahon because they're usually VERY FRIENDLY and very helpful.) Its wasn't ready, Okay, that's fine to. But Darrell would it be possible to get it done sooner!?! My daughter needs her medication before she heads to work. His reply "I have 100's of other patients to, not one is priority." I replied "okay, I understand, I just asked because my daughter needs to head in to work and I was told it would be ready by now." Darrell then replied "like I said, an hour-hour half it'll be ready. I replied "Okay, so is it an hour or an hour half?" (I need to know my daughter needs her medication.) Darrell said in a snippy tone" I don't know maybe sooner that's just an estimate. I could be filling prescriptions right now but I'm on the phone with you longer than I should be." I said "you don't have to get all nuts with me Darrell, I'm asking cause like I said I was told it would be ready and its not and my daughter need her meds before she heads into work. (His tone, still low, not cussing but RUDE). Darrell did not cuss, Darrell did not raise his voice. But Darrell most definitely got snappy and rude when I asked if having her script ready sooner was possible. Darrell may have just lost 5 customers today. I'm sure he don't care though (by the sound of his rudeness and snappy remarks). I understand the stress our essential workers are under. I do. I respect and I appreciate all that they are doing because I have children who are essential workers as well. My heart goes out to them. But Darrell, go to Dions find my daughter (you also have her name, obviously you're filling her script, late but still doing it. Maybe you can learn some GOOD customer service from my 16 year old daughter who suffers in pain everyday allday but STILL manages to serve YOU with RESPECT, with KINDNESS and with ALOHA (Love) in her heart.. i don't know what you been going through there and I'm sorry you have to. But if my 16 year old daughter can handle it better. I think you have it in you to and try to smile through the phone maybe that'll help your tone. You all are asking customers to be kind. Tell Darrell to be kind to his customers as the PHARMACIST there at Smith's. Wow credentials and everything. Be professional Be kind DARRELL. I sure hope calls are recorded. Cause if Darrell keep it up I'm calling corporate. Skip his managers. Straight to corporate and I don't EVER complain about bad customer service but Darrell was SO rude, that I'm making my first complaint against anyone ever in my life as far as businesses go. Hope you have a blessed day Darrell and things get better for you there.
