- KDKevin Daly2 days ago5.0I have yet to experience any problems with this company and it's all thanks to Dan, he personally knows my Director of therapy, and has gone ABOVE AND BEYOND TO ENSURE THAT MY WHEELCISSUES HAVE BEEN ADDRESSED PROMPTLY AND PROFESSIONALLY, HE GAVE ME HIS CARD WHEN WE FIRST MET NEARLY A YEAR AGO, SO ANYTIME I ENCOUNTER A PROBLEM, STRAIGHT TO MY PHONE I GO, REACH OUT TO DAN DIRECTLY AND HE ADDRESSES MY ISSUES QUICKLY AND THOROUGHLY, NEVER DO I FRET, LIKE I HAD TO WITH MY PREVIPUS WHEELCHAIR COMPANY. HE IS LIKE a handicap godsend and I am stating firmly and wholeheartedly that Dan be considered for employee of the YEAR

Every time I speak to Beth, whether it’s in regards to placing an order for equipment or needing a repair, which is extremely important to my daughter Francesca who does not walk and needs her wheelchair at all times she always manages to get things done in a timely matter. Her compassion to me and my family does not go unnoticed and it’s much appreciated.

My daughter's wheelchair always has issues and guess what the wall branch is the only Branch to actually answer the phone and or return a phone call. I've left messages at other branches and never got a phone call returned you try and call and you get a recording. Beth has been instrumental in keeping my disabled child's wheelchair rolling and anytime there was an issue service was scheduled and performed in a timely matter. Having a disabled child is hard enough and trying to get them moving shouldn't be a chore. Thank you Branch 109

How long does it take to get a new power wheelchair from NSM?

Why must I see a doctor to get a wheelchair from NSM?
Our clients have mobility challenges and are referred to us by therapists and physicians to receive mobility solutions that meets all their unique needs. If you need a wheelchair, your best plan is to talk with your physician or therapist and get a thorough evaluation from a qualified Rehab Technology Supplier (RTS).
What if my medical condition changes?
Contact your local NSM branch and notify us of any changes that may affect the proper fit and function of your chair.
Are there any dangers in using an off-the-shelf wheelchair?
Definitely. A standard or not customized chair can cause more harm than good. People come in all shapes and sizes; their chairs must be designed to fit them. In severe situations, a standard or not customized chair may:
- Cause significant physiological and psychological problems
- Lead to an increase in dependence because it’s not used due to lack of comfort
- Cause pressure sores, or decubitus, due to improper cushioning
- Become obsolete quickly if not configured to “grow with the child”
- Become a major expense to replace or reconfigure, because most funding sources will only reimburse for a new chair every five years.
