One of the most effective ways to replace teeth or anchor dentures in dentistry is dental implants. The procedure involves anchoring a bridge, tooth or denture to titanium screws that are anchored in the bone. If you have lost or broken your teeth and need them to be replaced with implants, come to Staffordshire Dental Group P.A. today.
In the early stages of gum disease, the treatment mostly involves scaling and root planing, special types of cleaning methods which remove plaque and tartar around the tooth and smoothen the root surface. Antibiotics or antimicrobials may be used to supplement the effects of scaling and root planing. In most cases of gum disease in the early stage, scaling, root planing, and proper daily cleaning will definitely help mitigate the effects.
Bleaching brightens teeth that have been stained or darkened by food, tobacco use, age, or injury. This technique makes use of the Zoom! Teeth Whitening system.Using this technique, a patient can get brighter teeth in just a few days by following the procedure at home, thus eliminating the need for multiple visits to the clinic. He or she will be given customized impression trays, whitening powder, and syringes of whitening gel.

Our dentists recommend tooth-colored fillings because they bond to the tooth structure and help strengthen tooth weakened by decay. White fillings are more natural and less sensitive to temperature. Tooth-colored fillings require minimal tooth reduction, conserving as much natural tissue as possible.
A denture is a removable replacement for missing teeth and the tissues connected to those teeth. It consists of acrylic plastic and in some cases, porcelain and metal materials, closely resembling natural gum tissue and teeth. While partial dentures only replace the missing spaces, complete dentures replace all of the teeth. They are not just limited to elderly patients. Patients of any age can require dentures of some sort due to loss of some or all of their teeth.
Do you need crowns and onlays to restore your damaged teeth? At Staffordshire Dental Group P.A., we use the CEREC system to create and implant ceramic restorations in a single appointment. You will not have to go through multiple procedures or schedule several appointments to get crowns and onlays. This multi-instrument system consists of a computer with 3-D imaging software, an infrared digital camera and a milling unit that creates high-quality and precise porcelain or ceramic restorations. Our doctor will create the crowns, onlays, veneers, and fillings for you in just one appointment. These restorations are made by our dentist who will ensure that you get the perfect fit.
Dental Bridges
Dental bridges are natural-looking tooth replacements which help maintain facial structure, reduce stress on the jaw and fill in the gaps caused by missing teeth. Fixed bridges are cemented to the existing teeth and do not come out. The procedure for a bridge is similar to getting a crown. The teeth next to the space a reduced in size and then an impression is taken and sent to a lab. The permanent bridge is fabricated at the lab and then returned to the office approximately two weeks later. At the delivery appointment the temporary bridge is removed and the permanent bridge is tried in and cemented. Homecare instructions are given at this appointment to ensure the patient continues to clean around the bridge in order to get the bridge to last as long as possible.
Veneers
Veneers are porcelain covers that are cemented to the front of the tooth to improve esthetics of chipped, stained or malformed teeth. They can be done with either no removal of tooth structure or removal of very minimal tooth structure depending on the individual case. An impression is taken of the teeth and sent to a laboratory where the veneers are fabricated according to the patient's wish of size, shape, and color. Once they are returned from the laboratory they are tried in to ensure the fit and aesthetics are acceptable and then they are cemented to the tooth.
LUMINEERS® BY CERINATE®
LUMINEERS® BY CERINATE® is a terrific cosmetic solution for permanently stained, chipped, discolored, misaligned teeth, or even to revitalize old crown and bridgework. LUMINEERS BY CERINATE are porcelain veneers that can be made as thin as a contact lens and is placed over existing teeth without requiring painful removal of sensitive tooth structure (unlike traditional veneers.) A variety of shades are available in order for the patient to select the shade of their choosing.
Dental Bonding
Dental bonding can improve the appearance of chipped, broken, cracked and stained teeth and fill in spaces between teeth. Dentists apply a thin layer of tooth-colored composite resin to the teeth to restore chips and cracks, fill in gaps or cover stains, and provide patients with a more attractive and functional smile.
Are you experiencing tooth pain while eating? The pain in your teeth may be related to an infection or inflammation due to tooth decay. At Staffordshire Dental Group P.A., we provide root canal treatment to remove damaged or dead pulp tissue. Our dentists will reshape the canal, fill it with a rubber-like material called gutta- percha, and seal the tooth.
Digital imaging helps to detect cavities between the teeth which may otherwise go unnoticed. The digital X-ray image can be viewed instantly on the computer screen in a large format. We also use CBCT or Cone Beam Scan to take a 3-D image of your teeth, bones, soft tissues, and nerve pathways. This helps us to diagnose any pathology and plan the placement of implants. These images also help us pinpoint the exact location of wisdom teeth. We use this technique for cephalometric analysis during orthodontic treatment as well.
Nitrous oxide (N2O2), otherwise known as laughing gas, is a sweet-smelling gas administered through a mask that fits snugly over your nose. We deter cross-contamination and maintain sanitary conditions. Nitrous oxide is also called conscious sedation because it causes intense relaxation, but patients can continue to communicate with the doctor. Nitrous oxide is quick to act, and the effects subside quickly, so you can return to normal daily activities following the treatment. The use of nitrous oxide decreases sensitivity to pain and can be combined with local anesthetic, an injection that creates numbness at the site of treatment. Nitrous oxide can be administered before an injection. Nitrous oxide is safe for adults and children. More than 80% of pediatric dentists use nitrous oxide. However, it should not be used on a pregnant mother or a child who is too young to communicate effectively. Nitrous oxide is a great option for adults who feel anxious about dental procedures.
If the patient requests to be placed under deeper sedation, Staffordshire Dental Group P.A. can make arrangements for a board-certified anesthesiologist to come to our office and place the patient under anesthesia while the procedure is being performed.

I chose Staffordshire Dental Group as my new dentist after reading countless positive reviews. As someone who greatly dislikes going to the dentist, I have to say, this was such a comforting experience. The staff are empathetic, patient, and supportive. I am greatly impressed at their high level of professionalism, knowledge, and patient care. While I'm still not entirely looking forward to my next appointment at the dentist, I know that at Staffordshire there will be doctors, dental assistants and hygienists who will help to make me as comfortable as I can be.
