  My experience at Tender Smile was overall horrible. I called to make an appointment for my daughter because she was having tooth pain. When we arrived, they charged me $245 because they don’t accept my insurance. I told the receptionist before paying that I wanted my daughter to get an X-ray and that I didn’t care about the cleaning. She told me the X-ray was included in the appointment. After I paid the $245, they told me I had to pay an additional $145 for the X-ray. When I questioned it, I was told the $245 was only for making the appointment.

  Everything was done quick they didnt want to take too much of our time for consultancy, good thing that my son was taken to the car on wheelchair, since he was dosing off. As a 1st visit to the tender smile I expected a goodie bag with tooth brush and toothpaste and floss for him which they didn't give. They have a fish aquarium there for kids but not the toy area in the waiting room as shown in the images. Thankfully his tooth problem was solved.

  We’ve had a great experience at Tender Smiles in North Brunswick! Dr. Michelle Chung is wonderful. She is kind, patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely cares about her patients. She takes the time to explain everything and makes the experience comfortable and stress-free. The entire staff is friendly and welcoming as well\. We’re very happy with the care we’ve received and would definitely recommend Tender Smiles to anyone looking for a great dental office!

  I had an appointment yesterday 9/9/26 & it was definitely different than my last root canal specialist, It was rushed, so I feel like it could have been done better tbh. Of course I’m happy to get done sooner, but not when it’s done roughly. After about 6 hours, I developed two large ulcers one near my lip and another right behind the tooth that was worked on. Probably from how rough it was done. My tooth was broken & had decay, but the temporary filling was only put in an extremely thin layer, instead of filling the hole. So it’s currently uncomfortable & I had to make an emergency appointment with my dentist to get it taken care of tomorrow, instead of waiting till my Monday appointment 5 days away from my root canal visit. I also had a bit of drama with booking. I live 55mins from office with no traffic. I had an appointment scheduled a couple weeks ago, but I had to cancel because my dog ate something he is allergic to and started throwing up. So I could not leave my house until I made sure he was OK and no longer being sick. This would’ve been my first appointment with this practice. Well the Front desk person I spoke to was extremely rude and originally told me I could no longer be a patient at that practice for canceling. Eventually, they emailed me and said I could come for an appointment. Was definitely unprofessional & had no Compassion or understand, emergency’s do happen & For me to have to cancel one time, and their response is to not see me anymore is a little bit extreme. I do have one more appointment with this practice, and I’m hoping it goes better than the last one!
