I wanted to love this place, but the way they handled my membership left me with no choice but to write this review.
When I signed up for the 3-month, 8-class membership, I was told the price was $260. Based on the way it was explained, I understood that to be the total cost. At no point was it clearly stated that it was $260 per month for three months. Had someone simply said that, I never would have signed up. It's not difficult to clearly explain what someone is committing to.
I even asked where I could read over the membership details before signing up because I wanted to understand exactly what I was agreeing to. I was told there wasn't a paper copy and nowhere on the website where I could reference the information. Very strange.
To make matters worse, the studio entered my email address incorrectly even though they had my correct email and asked me to verify it. Because of their typo, I never received my membership agreement, terms and conditions, or any welcome emails.
When I discovered the second $260 charge, I went into the studio for an explanation and was suddenly told it was actually $260 every month. To make matters worse, I was also told it was a 3-month commitment—something that was never clearly explained to me when I signed up. So you're telling me I'm locked into paying $260 a month for three months based on pricing that was presented completely differently at the start? I immediately contacted corporate multiple times, but every call went straight to voicemail. I also emailed the studio multiple times, and it took four days and a bad Google review before anyone finally responded.
Over the next week, I exchanged 10 emails with the General Manager, Joanna. Instead of trying to understand what happened, she repeatedly stated the sign-up process was a "self-booking process" and claimed her staff had explained the three-month commitment even though she wasn't there when I enrolled. Rather than confirming what actually happened with security cameras, if she really wanted to get what really happened, assumptions were quickly made and the blame was turned back on me.
Throughout those 10 emails, I repeatedly requested a copy of the membership agreement they claimed I had signed, including proof of my signature, the date and time it was signed, the method of signing, and documentation showing that I acknowledged the recurring monthly billing. Despite relying on this alleged agreement to deny my refund, they never once provided or even acknowledged my request for those records. Even after multiple follow-up emails specifically asking for this documentation, I have still never been provided with any proof that I signed or acknowledged the agreement they claimed I accepted. For a decision that was entirely based on this alleged agreement, I find it extremely concerning that they were unable or unwilling to produce the very documentation they relied upon.
I was also repeatedly told they couldn't stop my third payment because of the membership commitment. Yet the first time I went into the studio to resolve the issue, the front desk gave me a cancellation form and specifically told me it was to stop my third payment. So what's the form I filled out? Every was extremely murky. The communication throughout this process was incredibly poor.
Eventually, after 10 emails going back and fourth, unanswered calls, a dismissive general manager (Joanna), a formal bank dispute, and a public review, they canceled my third payment and refunded my second payment. I appreciate the outcome, but it should never have taken all of that to resolve an issue that could have been handled professionally from the start.
If you're considering a membership here, get everything in writing and make sure the staff clearly states the billing terms instead of using misleading wording before you agree to anything. Otherwise, you could end up paying for something you were pretty much pushed into and have the MOST DIFFICULT time getting your money back.
