After visiting Madison Eyes, I decided to make the short trip over to LensCrafters on Route 10 in East Hanover to see if I could find a better price on both a pair of eyeglasses and sunglasses. I honestly wasn’t expecting the experience to stand out as much as it did, but from the moment I walked through the door, I was impressed!
I was promptly greeted when I walked in and told to take my time, look around, and that someone would be with me shortly. I started browsing the selection, and before I knew it, Allison, the assistant manager, came over, introduced herself, and shook my hand. She immediately made a fantastic first impression. She was warm, friendly, upbeat, outgoing, and incredibly professional. You could tell right away that she genuinely enjoys helping people and takes pride in what she does.
Allison suggested that I pick out four pairs that I liked, and then we could sit down together and go through them. I ended up choosing three pairs of eyeglasses and a pair of Oakley sunglasses. We sat down, went through each option, and Allison gave me honest, professional, and thoughtful input on every pair. She was extremely helpful without ever being pushy or making me feel like I had to buy something. She listened to what I was looking for and helped me narrow everything down based on what actually suited me.
One thing I really appreciated was that the conversation didn’t feel strictly like a sales transaction. In between going over the different glasses and working out the pricing, Allison made some friendly small talk and even shared some helpful advice and insight about different eyewear brands. It was a small touch, but it made the experience feel much more personal and relaxed. I never felt rushed, pressured, or like I was simply being pushed toward the most expensive option.
The best part was the final price. I ended up purchasing a pair of Oakley sunglasses and a pair of eyeglasses for a fraction of what I had been quoted elsewhere. The difference in price was significant, and combined with the level of customer service I received, I left the store feeling like I had made a great decision.
This is exactly what a great retail experience should be. Good selection, competitive pricing, knowledgeable staff, and most importantly, someone who genuinely makes you feel like a valued customer rather than just another sale.
I highly recommend this LensCrafters to anyone looking for eyeglasses or sunglasses, whether you’re shopping for something basic or a premium brand like Oakley.
And if you get the opportunity to work with Allison, you’re in luck! She is easily one of the most professional, personable, and genuinely helpful people I’ve encountered in the eyewear industry.
Five stars all the way! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I walked in just to compare prices and walked out with two new pairs of glasses, a great deal, and an even better experience. I will absolutely be returning!

I had an excellent experience at LensCrafters in Hanover, NJ. From the moment I arrived, everything was well organized, efficient, and right on schedule. The staff handled my insurance seamlessly, making the entire visit stress-free.
Dr. Mary Wu, O.D., was outstanding. She was patient, compassionate, and an excellent listener. She took the time to thoroughly explain my eye condition, provided helpful education, and offered thoughtful recommendations that made me feel informed and confident about my eye care. I truly appreciated her caring and professional approach.
Nicole, who helped me select my new glasses, was equally wonderful. She was sincere, genuine, and took the time to help me choose frames that complemented my face shape, hair color, and skin tone. I never felt rushed, and her guidance made the process enjoyable.
This was one of the best eye care experiences I’ve had. The professionalism, kindness, organization, and attention to detail from everyone made a lasting impression. I would absolutely return to this LensCrafters location in a heartbeat and highly recommend it to anyone looking for exceptional eye care and outstanding customer service.

This review is for the eye care team, not the retail store. Avoid this location for eye care.

Dr. Malik was very thorough and explained everything clearly to me regarding my changed eyewear prescription. Robert was great in explaining the in-store promotions versus my insurance and was able to get me a better price. Thanks to the others in the East Hanover, NJ location who made this a great experience.
Taking your child to an optometrist for an eye exam is the best way to learn if your child needs glasses. Many children who need glasses aren’t aware that they do. Signs of vision problems in children include sitting too close to the television, squinting, sensitivity to light, difficulty with eye-hand coordination, and avoiding visual activities like reading and drawing. To see if your child needs glasses, schedule your child’s eye exam today.
Is a contact lens exam different than an eye exam?
A normal, comprehensive eye exam will allow your optometrist to determine if your eyes are healthy enough to wear contact lenses. During your contact lens fitting, detailed measurements of your eyes will be taken to determine the right contact lenses for you. There is an additional fee for a contact lens fitting and evaluation for all contact lens patients (both new and established patients). Schedule your eye exam today to have all of your questions about contact lenses answered.
What is the difference between an eye exam and a vision screening?
A comprehensive eye exam is administered by an optometrist and can detect not only vision problems but problems with eye health and general health as well. A vision screening is typically performed by a general medical practitioner such as a pediatrician or a nurse. While a vision screening can help identify vision issues, it can miss many important issues that a comprehensive eye exam can identify. This is why everyone is encouraged to get annual eye exams. Schedule your eye exam today!
Why should I get an eye exam?
An annual eye exam involves more than just updating your glasses or contact prescription. A comprehensive eye exam can also detect eye health issues as well as general health problems. Conditions such as diabetes and high blood pressure can be detected in early stages through an eye exam, and this can result in early treatment. Schedule your annual eye exam today.
What should I bring to my eye exam?
You should bring your vision insurance and medical insurance information to your eye exam. If you currently wear any prescription lenses, bring your eyeglasses, sunglasses, and contact lenses. You should also bring any and all questions you may have. Contact your optometrist if you have specific questions about any additional items you think you may need to bring to your eye exam.
