  I was an unlimited member at this studio, and my experience goes beyond simply attending classes. I watched firsthand how management handled concerns, how those decisions affected someone I care about, and what I believe they have done to the sense of community that members should be able to expect from a place like this. I personally watched legitimate concerns be raised and saw how upsetting and hurtful the response became. Rather than seeing concerns treated as an opportunity to improve, it often felt like the person raising them became the problem. As a member, that was extremely disappointing to watch. Cleanliness was also an issue. At one point, I was the one who suggested that we offer our own vacuum because the studio needed to be cleaned. An unlimited member should never feel like bringing cleaning equipment from home is necessary to help maintain a studio they are paying to attend. I also don’t understand the management approach when staff members make mistakes or problems are brought to their attention. Managers are supposed to be able to give employees constructive feedback, correct issues, and protect the experience of their members. From what I witnessed, I do not believe that was handled well here. Another concern for me is the repeated emails encouraging members to leave Google reviews for a chance to win prizes or giveaways. I have personally seen those emails. When a business is actively incentivizing reviews, I think that is important context for anyone looking at the studio’s online rating. What bothers me most is watching what was supposed to be a supportive fitness community become a source of stress and hurt. Pilates studios depend on trust, respect, and community. Members should be able to raise concerns without feeling like doing so will change how they are treated. I was paying for an unlimited membership, and I expected better: better cleanliness, better communication, better leadership, and more accountability when something goes wrong.

  Very friendly, clean, and welcoming studio! The classes are great. As someone with zero experience, I never felt uncomfortable or out of place. The instructors are very supportive and guide you through everything, so you can learn at your own pace without any pressure. I was a little nervous before signing up, but I’m really glad I did. Highly recommend!

  I love this Club Pilates location. I used to hate working out. We are Greeted with a smile every time we walk in through the door. The instructors are so knowledgeable and encouraging. Everyone works at their own level- all ages and body types welcome! I highly recommend Club Pilates North Broadway!

  I can’t recommend this location enough! Every instructor and front desk staff member I’ve encountered since I joined at the start of the year has been absolutely wonderful. The studio has such a welcoming, supportive, and inclusive atmosphere that makes everyone feel comfortable, regardless of their fitness level or experience. A special shoutout to Jodi, the manager, who is doing an incredible job creating such a positive environment. You can truly tell how much she and the entire team care about their members. I’m so happy to have found this studio!

  UPDATE AFTER OWNER COMMENT: The owner responded only after concerns were raised about the studio’s review practices and their impact on the Salem community. The studio has repeatedly sent emails offering members entry into monthly giveaways in connection with leaving Google reviews. I have copies of those emails, and I believe that is important context for anyone evaluating this studio’s overall rating. At this point, this does not appear to be a one-time misunderstanding. Both the owner and the studio manager, Jodi, have been made aware of the concern, yet similar review-related giveaway emails have continued for at least two consecutive months. Rather than addressing or stopping the practice, management chose to respond to my honest review. That is disappointing. Online ratings are only useful when customers can trust that reviews are being collected fairly and without incentives. Businesses depend on trust. If management continues a practice after being made aware that it may violate Google’s review policies, customers are entitled to consider that when deciding how much confidence to place in the studio’s reviews and its business practices overall. I was an unlimited member for about a year and attended more than 50 classes. I genuinely supported the studio, including donating a Little Free Library and a robot vacuum. Despite that, I was treated as though I did not belong in what often felt like a popular high-school clique. Pilates should be accessible and welcoming, especially for disabled people, but the culture here felt focused on appearance, popularity, and exercise obsession. Staff regularly allowed people who appeared fit to cough heavily throughout entire classes without saying anything, while treating others differently. Cleanliness and safety were ongoing concerns. I saw dust, fingernail clippings, debris, and even a used Band-Aid on the floor during morning classes. The studio frequently smelled like feet, and the space was so crowded that switching between classes felt unsafe. I also heard staff mock and complain about the town fire chief after safety concerns were raised, as though fire requirements were merely making their jobs harder. The owner presents the studio as a community-focused local business, but she does not live in town and is visibly absent from the studio. That lack of involvement shows in how the space is managed and in its connection to the community it claims to serve. Instructor turnover has also been significant, with only a small number of the original instructors remaining after the first year. This did not feel like an inclusive, disability-conscious Pilates community. It felt like toxic workout culture wrapped in a “you can’t sit with us” attitude. Thankfully, another Pilates studio has now opened in town, giving the community another option for a cleaner, safer, and more welcoming experience.
