So I just hung up the phone Michelle such pleasant associate. It's because of her I moved my start to a 4.I'm taking the time to write this cuz I've been using this pharmacy since around 2000 on and off. I will recommend this pharmacy for the most part. I just wish it was a little more consistent, yesterday I didn't have that same experience I was meant with a rude rushed associate. My other major issue with this pharmacy and why it's not a five-star review is the bureaucracy that goes on between insurance companies and pharmacist over doctors is starting to get a little concerning with one of the more recent practices I've encountered after my prescriptions were forced to be transferred back to Hannaford pharmacy from rite aid when they closed. However I was exclusively with Hannaford until the 2021 shortage on one of my prescriptions. Which is when I switched to rite aid. So I feel like I'm a good advocate for this review because what happened to me was clear-cut example of how doctors are forced to not write for what you need and rather what can be filled. I've been on the same medication for probably 30 years it's a ADD drug I'm on a higher dose then most insurance companies want to cover. I've learned and I have insurance to deny the pre-approval and just pay cash it's not worth the hassle. However switching my prescription to this pharmacy and not able to fill it for over a week was life-altering for me to not have my medication that I've been on for Most my life due to the insurance and pharmacist over what my doctor orders. Pharmacy would not let me pay out of pocket for my prescription but I needed desperately and to take a lower amount just to appease the insurance company to get it filled,I would had ran out in 2 weeks. Instead I continuously went into the pharmacy until I finally got someone that did let me pay cash This took seven attempts. After them telling me that until I get the pre-approval I could not fill my medication. Meaning the doctor who I've been going to 30 years and had me on the dose im on from being on them so long.he probably knows me better than the insurance company. For the pharmacist to back the insurance company a pen pusher and keep medication from a customer is truly disgusting to me.Needless to say I don't fill that prescription there anymore.I do fill most my others cause I do like this pharmacy other then this. somebody needs to look at this policy because it's truly disturbing to have the chain of command being altered like this. You have a patient with a relationship with the doctor that should be a binding contract with what the patient needs. Pharmacist job is to fill the prescription, however if the pharmacist is suspicious of a doctor over medicating then they should use the proper channels and have the discretion to not fill the prescription I got that. When it comes to an insurance company denying the prescription they should have no say on if the patient should be able to obtain medication they need to go through there daily life and is life altering without. If I wasn't on other prescriptions I needed that insurance for, I would have canceled it just to be able to attain the medication that I need to go through life and be a productive member of society. So like I said I don't think my one review is going to change policy but hopefully it gets looked at because insurance companies shouldn't be able to dictate what a patient is able to take, they can refuse to pay for it, yes but for the pharmacist to refuse to fill the prescription due to their personal feelings on what a proper dose is without knowing the patient or their history is where it gets skewed. If a pharmacist is that concerned, have her conversation with the doctor but to leave a patient without there medication is totally wrong in my opinion due to a insurance company, I can't imagine this happens with non narcotics or at least hope it doesn't. Can't get pre-approval for ur insulin, to bad so sad ,No u can't pay cash, insurance agent doesn't think u should be taking it. Do u see how ridiculous this sounds

They are having a little trouble right now with rite aid closing down and a flood of new customers and brand new employees who don't quite know what they're doing. I feel for them.
