Vaccinations

Routine vaccinations are one of the easiest ways to keep yourself healthy. Our pharmacies provide annual flu vaccines, COVID-19 vaccinations, routine child and adult immunizations, catch-up vaccines and travel vaccines.

This vaccine protects against chickenpox, a disease caused by the varicella zoster virus. Adults born in 1980 or later need two doses.

This vaccine protects against coronavirus. Depending on the manufacturer, up to two doses and a booster are currently recommended.

This vaccine protects against Hepatitis A, an infection in the liver often spread by contaminated food and caused by hepatitis A virus. Adults traveling outside the country, those with chronic liver disease, and men who have sex with men need at least two doses.

This vaccine protects against Hepatitis B, a blood-borne infection of the liver caused by hepatitis B virus. Adults with chronic health conditions and healthcare workers should get three doses of this vaccine.

This vaccine protects against HPV, the major cause of cervical cancer, anal cancer, and genital warts in both women and men. Adults age 9-26 need at least two doses.

This vaccine protects against influenza, a contagious viral infection of the nose, throat, and lungs. Everyone 6 months and older should receive a yearly flu vaccine.

This vaccine protects against the respiratory disease measles, the infectious disease mumps, and the viral disease rubella. Adults born in 1957 or later need at least one dose.

There are two types of meningococcal vaccines that protect against meningococcal disease, a leading cause of bacterial meningitis infections around the brain and spinal cord. All 11-12 year olds should get a meningococcal conjugate vaccine and a booster dose at 16 years old. People age 16-23 years also may get a serogroup B meningococcal vaccine.

These vaccines protect against pneumococcal disease, caused by bacteria leading to ear and sinus infections as well as more serious lung and blood infections. If you smoke, have heart disease, asthma, chronic lung disease, or are over 65 years old, you need at least one dose.

This vaccine protects against polio, a disease that can infect a person’s spinal cord and cause paralysis. Children are recommended to get one vaccine dose at 2 months old, 4 months old, 6 through 18 months old, and 4 through 6 years old.

This vaccine protects against shingles, a painful skin rash caused by the varicella zoster virus. Adults age 50 and older need two doses.

These vaccines protect against tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis which are contagious bacterial diseases. Adults need one dose of Tdap, then a Td or Tdap booster every 10 years.

Physical & Wellness Screenings

Our pharmacies offer a number of wellness screenings to help detect and prevent certain diseases.

When you come in for a biometric screening, your provider will measure your height, weight and blood pressure. They will also test your blood glucose, and lipids (cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL, LDL) using a finger prick to obtain a blood sample. Before leaving you will have your results along with risk reduction counseling to help you achieve your optimum health. **Biometric Screenings are available at select pharmacies only.

Blood glucose measurement detects the amount of glucose (sugar) in the bloodstream. High or low blood sugars could indicate a metabolic condition, such as diabetes.

Hemoglobin A1C measures your average blood glucose (sugar) over the past 90 days. An elevated hemoglobin A1C could indicate the presence of diabetes. **Hemoglobin A1C Screenings are available at select pharmacies only.

Cholesterol screening measures the amount of cholesterol, triglycerides, high density lipoprotein (HDL) and low density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol levels in the blood. Cholesterol screenings can detect conditions such as high cholesterol or high triglycerides.

Currently, I’m stayingin a hotel because they’re working on my apartment tearing out my bathroom ceiling. I called the pharmacy and asked them to have my medication delivered to my hotel room and they said they can’t guarantee that they could do that. I asked them what was the difference between going into my apartment building walking up to my apartment door and having me sign for my medicine And doing the basically same thing but being in a hotel room. I didn’t wanna have to go to the front desk because influenza and measles are spreading really bad and I just had vaccines a couple days ago. The pharmacist was arguing back-and-forth with me and I said when you order Uber or medicine in this case, the driver will go where you tell them to go,. They were saying they don’t know if the driver would do that I was saying, why wouldn’t they. After a lot of arguing, I just called back and canceled the whole order for my medicine. Now I’m in the hotel and haven’t taken one particular medicine and now I won’t be able to take it because of stupidity that happened at the pharmacy. I’m not very happy about this at all and usually the pharmacy works pretty good.

The pharmacists Ben was the most unprofessional individual I've ever encountered at a pharmacy. NEVER HAVE I EVER had to tell a pharmacist to calm down. Every time I tried to express my concern he would over talk me, threaten to notated my account so I can not refill prescriptions trying to get my ptsd and Adhd medication refilled due to working 12 hr shifts for the next week and have I never been so disrespected. Will no longer go to bakers pharmacy anywhere. Will now be finding a new pharmacy all together. Completely unacceptable.

I have used Bakers or Kroger pharmacy for 30 plus years. When I relocated to the Omaha area and started using this pharmacy, it has been a nightmare. Multiple times they’ve said that they’ve faxed the doctor for refills, the doctor doesn’t receive the fax, I run out of meds, it becomes a 2-3 day ordeal that I have to handle … pharmacy is not going to help you a bit with ANYthing. I recently went out of state to visit family and needed to get some meds refilled while there, it literally took 4 days. The pharmacist named JOHN (unsure of spelling) refused to give the out of state pharmacy my prescription Information over the phone, insisting that he had to fax the information. After multiple calls from the out of state pharmacy and myself, he still didn’t send them, saying that he did AND telling myself and the out of state pharmacist that he was very busy. Finally, another pharmacist gave the prescription information over the phone. All of this was completely senseless!!!
