  I loved working with my clients at Homestead, but the management made the experience extremely frustrating. Any time you bring up a concern or issue, they refer to it as “complaining” instead of actually listening to their caregivers. It often feels like they care more about what works best for scheduling than what is actually best for the clients. For many clients, it is already difficult to trust someone enough to let them into their home and personal space. Once a client finally builds trust and a strong bond with a caregiver, you would think management would prioritize keeping that consistency for them. Instead, they frequently switch caregivers around without considering how that affects the client emotionally or mentally. One thing management also fails to understand is that this job is personal. As caregivers, we spend hours caring for these clients, helping them through vulnerable moments, listening to them, supporting them, and making sure they feel safe and comfortable in their own homes. It is completely normal to grow attached and care about them like family. There is nothing wrong with having genuine care and emotions toward the people you are responsible for looking after every day. A good caregiver does not treat this as “just a job.” The reason many of us do this work is because we genuinely care about people. Management should not disregard those feelings or make caregivers feel wrong for advocating for clients they have built relationships with. At the end of the day, the clients deserve stability, trust, and caregivers who truly care about their wellbeing, not constant changes made only for scheduling convenience. The clients were the best part of this job, but management made it hard to feel supported or valued as an employee

  Misty with Home Instead (Seward) has been wonderful to work with. She answers all my questions and helps me anyway she can. The scheduling staff always try to accommodate my dad's needs and if a caregiver has an emergency, they are quick to try to get someone else to cover their shift. Overall, this is a great company to trust with your loved ones care.

  We engaged with Home Instead following an "outpatient" (but major to me) surgery so I could come "Home Instead" of a longer hospital stay or a stint at a rehab facility. Home Instead was fabulous to work with as they adjusted to my needs and hours needed as my recovery advanced. As others have mentioned, reviews on the caregivers is mixed. None of mine were bad, per se, but Home Instead was responsive to my feedback and I ended up with several fabulous caregivers. All of my caregivers were anxious to go above and beyond, providing assistance to me and our household by going out of their way to find more areas we hadn't thought of where they could assist.

  Home Instead does a great job of matching clients with caregivers and setting caregivers up to understand clients' strengths, life stories and needs. Wonderful people on both sides.

  i have enjoyed working for home instead. staff at the office is flexible with my family life to make sure i can have a family/work life. i have enjoyed meeting the clients i work with and have built some great friendships with them. i will always hold those friendships close to my heart! great place to work for. 😀
